Boston's Channel 7, 10:30 news, today:
"The draft is, in effect, back. Thousands of Americans are being involuntarily extended in their military service because of the demands of the Iraq War. This is no different than having reinstituted the draft. These servicemen and women are being forced to serve, just as they were during Vietnam..."
Channel 7 is either too stupid or too dishonest to make any sense. Every person who joins the service knows straight up that they can be extended in their active duty service up to the length of their contract -- usually a six year contract fronted by two or three years nominal active duty.
Channel 7 lines-up with the Kerryites and the professional Liberal Liars. Go, Boston.
Even though I live in Florida now- I'm a Massachusetts native- every time I get homesick and miss New England- I have only to read something like this:)

Instead of a full draft could we realign maintainance jobs to the private sector? Or, have prisoners assigned to clean and work on stateside facilities in a non-sensitive area. If the prisoner screws around during the work assignment he gets 20 years more on to his sentence. Moreover improve combat pay and pass a law that all servicemen and their spouses do not pay any state or federal tax while in country.
What I'm saying in a long way is that the RATS want us to lose. They will not look at options and If Kerry is elected we will have an elitist "in the box" thinking idiot destroying us from within.
