A Zogby poll of Minnesota voters released Sept. 6 indicates that Catholics, who supported Sen. John Kerry by a margin of 48 to 42 percent in the Star Tribune's July Minnesota poll, now are with President Bush by a startling 60 to 36 percent.
One organization that has worked hard to make it that way is "Relevant Radio," 1330 AM, the new right-wing Catholic voice of God in town -- and a presence in swing states Wisconsin, Iowa and Pennsylvania.
To whatever extent Relevant Radio is making a difference, it does so both by its selection of issues for discussion and by its self-conscious -- and, I think, illegal -- advocacy for Bush.

A creation of right-wing Catholic money, and calling itself "listener-supported," Relevant Radio takes pride in being a national media outlet approved by the U.S. Catholic Bishops. It submits to oversight by a five-member board that includes Archbishop Harry Flynn of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
The time has come for the bishops to pull the plug.

Catholic media ping...
They can shut down Catholic radio, and Fox News, and Rush, Drudge, FR, Lucianne, rightwing blogs, and evangelical Christian organizations & churches. They will try to ban the Bible. They will NEVER be able to stop us from praying.
Some Catholics were conservative when conservative wasn't cool.
Using this guys logic we'll be shutting down all the news networks (except Fox) for their pro-Kerry, pro-leftwing agenda. Hoo-ray!
Typical liberal, free speech is only for people that agree with them.
Aye! Almost every one I know (who actually goes to church and speaks English).
I think Star Tribune just made a mistake.
The biggest obstacle in making people aware of liberal bias is that a huge part of the bias is not only in the way things are reported, but in what is and what is not reported. By making their readers aware of this aspect of bias...they are potentially damaging themselves much worse than any Catholic Radio operation. After all, why would their supposedly biased coverage so dramatically affect political preferences unless they were hearing things that mattered they never heard before?
There is a good letter to the editor in there if someone local wants to write it, but I doubt it would get published.
FRee speech for all except.........
1330AM was formerly "Err America" featuring Frankenfraud and psycho Randi Rhodes. Of course the Red Star wants to see 1330 going back to the Frankenfraud - with no real listenership.
No wonder Leftists want all guns confiscated. They know what an armed populace would do to them if their plans ever leaked out.
Maybe they could shut Art Bell off the air. He had "retired", but was asked to return for a while. HA. He spews Venim about GWB every weekend. He has had Sen. H. Reid, Nev. talking about the nuclear waste being dumped in Nevada, which of course has not happened. He had a caller the other night who supported Bush and Bell cut him off. THen he promoted his and Al GOre's movie that he recently made about global warming, I don't remember the name, but I don't think it will get any oscars this year.
We might take down Relevant Radio if they take down CBS...(:-)
We're lucky--we have a local Catholic station in the Philly area. But it's only 5000 watts (900 watts after sundown). Someday, God willing, we'll get a station with a stronger signal...
AM or FM? Frequency? (seriesly ;-) )
1570 AM out of Doylestown, PA.
Have you heard of Washington Catholic Radio? they're trying to get a local station in the DC area. They're online now. They carry EWTN programming plus their own stuff.

I'm not in DC, but I listen online now and then if EWTN radio, which I don't have locally either, is not playing anything to my interest.
