Giles nails it here! After a couple of days, everyone will realize that sKerry was all form and no substance.

Why doesn't Bush talk about what Kerry's doing in the Senate?
Imagine if he was running against Daschle. It would be all about his obstructionism. Kerry has been a cohort to Daschle's in the senate.
Flip-flops and their implications are abstract. Vietnam is old history. Kerry's dispicable work in the senate is tangible, current, and relevent.
Bush better make these next two debates about Kerry's record, and not about "flip-flops". "Flip-flop" has been drained of all of its impact. Startling new revelations about Kerry's senate record would go much much further.

Kerry's an empty suit.
I think more of America sees it than we give credit for.
Guess we'll find out soon.

Excellent editorial.
Bush is a DOER, while Kerry is a prevaricator.

The most effective con-artists are glib and believable, but they are still con-artists. Clinton educated America what kind of President we need in the time of war. Thanks Bill for being the bad example!

He does at that. And I love the headline--"Kerry Promises Bush Delivers"--would make a great bumpersticker!

"oratorical and ocular obfuscation. "
Exactly. Most voters are not used to hearing hoity-toity speech. Sounds like they are being talked down to. Bush is talking to real people in the audience.
When I was in co command, occassionally the 1st Sgt would say, "now stop using those college words on us, ma'am." He had a point. I started using a more down to earth discourse that I learned from my farmer-father . . . I was one of the troops, I might as well sound like one, too! ;)
OTOH, Kerry thinks it shows off his natural superiority . . .

Sure, Kerry looked presidential and sounded presidential.Chirac "looks" Presidential, too, but I wouldn't want him to run our country.

I think people will soon realize that Senator Kerry is like a good used car salesman--he'll do a very slick presentation to sell a bill of goods nobody wants. The very fear of thousands--perhaps hundreds of thousands--dead from a single terrorist attack will cause people to not vote the Senator. Besides, has Senator Kerry actually shown real leadership on almost any subject?
