FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOGISTICS TRAINING CENTER OPENS
LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq -- A new logistical training facility that will provide Soldiers and units all the technical assistance they need to use the Armys automated logistic systems in theater, opened here Oct. 1.
The Automated Logistics AssistanceTeam training facility provides classroom training and over-the-shoulder tailored training.
Having the ALAT in Iraq saves units time and money and provides immediate assistance to deployed Soldiers.
Without the team in Iraq, units would have to travel to Kuwait or to Fort Lee, Va., for training or assistance with the Armys logistics computer systems.
The ALAT has been in operation for several weeks, and the opening ceremony was combined with a graduation ceremony for the first group of Soldiers to be trained in Iraq on a new company-level property accountability system.
