The local Target store refused again to support a veterans organization. I chair a program called Operation Stuff the Bus, where we collect school supplies for homeless children. We place a school bus on key parking lots and invite local citizens to "stuff" it with things needy children must have to begin the new school term. All Walmart stores and the Belleview, FL Kmart store welcomed us. However, the Ocala, Florida, Target store flatly refused to let us on their parking lot. This is the second year that they have refused. By the way, we weren't asking for a donation. In fact, the supplies that citizens would have used to "stuff" the bus would have been purchased from the Target store.
The Military Officers Association conducts Stuff the Bus, with the support of the school district and the homeless children liaison.
Have any of you had the same response from Target?

Does target let anyone solicit on their property? They chased off the Salvation Army recently.
They also will not allow Toys for Tots (Marine Reserve) to do anything during Christmas time.
Sounds like the whole outfit needs to be "Scrooged".
According to their Web site, they do not allow anyone to solicit for anything on their property. While I understand that they are within their rights to do this, it really looks bad when charitable groups complain publicly about the lack of cooperation.
