Hello everyone,
So I'm sitting in my natural science class and these sophomores are talking about how Bush plans to reinstate the draft, yada yada yada.
Where can I direct these kids to information that 1)the draft isn't coming back and 2)it's being pushed by the Democratic Party?

Have them read the constitution. And all the amendments.
First you get the origional bill that is sponsored and supported only by dems. Then you get the kerry statements to the effect that he would wish to put more troops on the ground in Iraq.

There was this one girl (who is incredibly ignorant in my mind) saying how if the draft is brought back, she plans to get pregnant multiple times. Pure ignorance and it doesn't even matter if she was joking, but I want something to show them. Cuz it's their candidate who's apart of the party trying to do it.
The draft legislation in Congress is sponsored by Charles Rangel(D, New York) and Ernest Hollings(D, South Carolina, and retiring at the end his term). The last time we had a draft in the country, it was stopped by President Richard Nixon(R, California) and it was enforced his Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, who is also the current Sec. of Defense for the Bush Administration.

Also ask them if they are pissed that the Democrats and Dan Rather are lying and getting them psyched out for pure political reasons. That is pretty low, IMHO.
Well, it's not in Natural Sciences area but you could get them into researching it starting with the actual bill which would show the sponsors, and that it was proposed almost two years ago. http://thomas.loc.gov/ The bill numbers are HR163 and S89. It will show the sponsors, and then they can find out to which party they belong.

I know! I was sitting there thinking to myself, "um, was I the only one that heard Bush say there wouldn't be one?!!?!"
And add where Kerry said he would send MORE troops to Iraq and increase the number of Special Forces. I believe he said "double" the number of Special Forces but don't quote me on that part!
