Kerry's Big Debate Gaffe
The American Spectator ^ | 10/1/04 | Wlady Pleszczynski

Posted on 10/01/2004 10:22:45 AM PDT by HalleysFifth

[Kerry] produced the verbal gaffe of the evening, referring to the KGB headquarters as being located on Treblinka Square. What kind of empty suit would mistake the Nazi death camp for the Lubianka.

This huge Kerry blunder got by under the MSM radar, but it didn't get by Wlady Pleszczynski of the American Spectator.

I think the title 'gaffe of the evening' has to go to 'Global Test' although you could argue that is a rediculous policy position as opposed to a gaffe. In addition to Treblinka, there is also Kerry's unilateral approach to Korea.

Surely a blunder, but one must wonder the motivation for Kerry to wish to be there checking KGB files.

Got something to hide?

It was pretty poor of JFK, especially since he is basking in his Jewish heritage, not to know what Treblinka was. (Or did he think the Soviets honored the victims by naming the square in front of the infamous KGB HQ and prison after one of the extermination camps?)

Man, that is the first thought that popped into my mind! Alger Hiss was proved to be a Soviet agent through those files!

Personally, I didn't care much for sKerry's plan to give nuclear material to the Mullahs.

That is not as big as him saying Bush Should Have Transferred Authority Over Iraq to the UN After Baghdad Fell

What about this Kerry blunder?

"Now we have this incredible mess in Iraq -- $200 billion. It's not what the American people thought they were getting when they voted."

One, I thought his party line has consistently been that Dubya was not elected by the people. Two, any one else here in America vote with the idea we would be attacked by terrorists nearly a year later?

Seems to me the ones who voted on Iraq included the Democratic Party Ticket -- and then later walked away from their responsibilities they assumed in making said vote.

This huge Kerry blunder got by under the MSM radar

Got under the MSM Radar? Kerry could admit to his favorite hobby being molesting and chopping up pre-school children in a wood chipper, and it would get under the MSM radar. Yet if Bush belched, the MSM would be calling it a hate crime! Theres a difference between ignoring and running cover!

It was a blunder, but no one cares. The average 'non-political junkie' voter-type will not give this a second thought.

I swear that Kerry said Floplujah , instead of Fallujah.
I also heard him say dole instead of hole.
It appeared that Lehrer winked at Kerry , when everyone was on stage.
I thought Kerry's diction was very sloppy and his tics were tamped down.
But, he still had that fine hand tremor.
Maybe he had pre debate drink ala Ronald Reagan or Teresa spiked his nail polish with Prozac.

I think the BIGGEST gaffe is that KERRY "INSISTS" we have the whole world's approval and interface in EVERY bit of dialog we have with a "rogue country" except for N. Korea...apparently we are to ONLY engage in "bi-lateral talks" with N. Korea and kick out, S. Korea, China, Russia and the other three...

Heck, here you've a guy who met with the communist enemy, who furthered the commie agenda by attacking along political lines on the homefront -- not on the battlefield -- is to this day revered and honored in a museum in communist Vietnam, is endorsed by the commies, one just has to wonder why John Kerry of all people had an interest in being around when the KGB files became available.

I did not hear this..missed the first part of the debate...but I read that Kerry made statements
against our troops in Iraq....

I read that Kerry made a remark about the 'shameful occupation' of our troops in Iraq upon "Sacred Muslim Holy Ground"?

The Koran states that infidels who set foot on Muslim Holy Ground must be killed

If Kerry said this then he was not only attacking our troops telling them they should be ashamed for being in Iraq....

But he also reminded Muslims of their 'holy' duty to kill our troops

Kerry should have been arrested put in chains and dragged off to jail for such remarks on national television

IMO

Bush got his message across in a sincere, impassioned way. He also kept his cool when Kerry rambled on and on with his attacks. With Bush, we know what we'd get for another four years. I'm sticking with President Bush. And hopefully, other viewers came to the same conclusion.
