PBS host Jim Lehrer was challenged Friday morning on claims that he went easy on Sen. John Kerry during Thursday night's presidential debate, while tossing verbal hand grenades in President Bush's direction designed to keep him on the defensive.
"I don't know what in the world you're talking about," Lehrer told radio host Don Imus, in his only post-debate interview.

I've posted the same thing before.
In 2008, the GOP staffers negotiating the debates have got to lay their foot down and say NO to certain moderators like Jim Lehrer.
This is the first step to having a true non-partisan debate.

Mr Bush - What did you do wrong?
Mr Kerry - What did Bush do wrong?
To: pabianice
That Lehrer failed to ask Kerry about his 20 years of cutting weapons systems and US intelligence was inexcusable. Bush's agreeing to him as moderator was a big mistake.Exactly.

The article states that the Clintons considered it a real coup when Lehrer was designated in his debates. And that an exec from PBS resigned when it was proven that they'd been giving their donor lists to the DNC for years.

It was a horrible question... but it was one of Dubya's best moments. Kerry completely folded when asked the same question.

"I don't know what in the world you're talking about," Lehrer told radio host Don Imus, in his only post-debate interview. As Bernard Goldberg put it the other day, "'Fish don't know he's wet'".

Theere is a thread which lists all the questions, and without the responses you can see exactly how anti-Bush they were. I recommend reading the threads about the suspicioins that Kerry had knowledge of the questions, as well. What's the thread called.?

Please see post 21 for my take on this.
I do agree with you.

Why did I think it was going to be two debates? What changed?

There's absolutely no question that the questions were skewed in Kerry's favor, Bush's detriment.
What I don't understand is why when they make these debates the GOP doesn't insist on different moderators! It IS that simple!!!
Who are the next two, Dan Rather and James Carville.

to me it appeared KErry was aware of what the questions were going to be, halfway through almost all of the questions, he was ready to answer. It was so scripted even his answers were exactly 2 mintues or less. I had the same impression... Kerry was able to get all of his points in ...even some domestic points. It appeared he was ready for everything Lehrer lobbed at him.

I guarantee you that Jim Lehrer doesn't give a rip whether the whole world thinks he's biased if that is what it takes to swing the election for Kerry.
To: MplsSteve
Yes, why is it that the GOP continues to give in to the liberal media? Isn't CBS up next? Sheesh.

Q 3 (to Kerry): "Colossal misjudgments." What colossal misjudgments, in your opinion, has President Bush made in these areas? Q 4 (to Bush): What about Senator Kerry's point, the comparison he drew between the priorities of going after Usama bin Laden and going after Saddam Hussein?
Q 18 (to Bush): All right. Mr. President, this is the last question. And two minutes. It's a new subject -- new question, and it has to do with President Putin and Russia. Did you misjudge him or are you -- do you feel that what he is doing in the name of antiterrorism by changing some democratic processes is OK?

"I don't know what in the world you're talking about," Lehrer told radio host Don Imus
Jim Lehrer - doesn't have a clue; never did.
And, for those in Rio Linda, yes, he does know what Imus is talking about . . . . . he just doesn't want to acknowledge the obvious to the rest of us.
