DEBATE REATION
http://mostlydeadarmadillos.com/ ^ | FRIDAY OCTOBER 1 2004 | STEPHEN JOHNSON

Posted on 10/01/2004 6:20:16 AM PDT by CHAROM

Debate Reaction As expected, the national press is in "Kerry won" mode. They are so easy to predict. They are all buzzed about the fact that Kerry seemed confident and presidential. I have not yet read a word about what he actually said. I paid attention to his points, and they were pure leftist pablum. I don't believe last nights debate will change much. Kerry is still an awful, awful candidate. Bush looked a bit tired at points. It may have been a mistake to allow him to engage in emotionally draining visits with Florida hurricane victims earlier in the day because the Bush camp knows that the press will focus on superficial and stylistic things.

Kerry's positions, even if he spoke confidently about them, still made no sense. He contradicted himself yet again. And this makes democrats proud?

As a conservative, I wish George Bush would have put Kerry away for good last night. But I also wish to win the lottery. I knew going into it that the stakes are too high for the press. They are laying it all on the line for Kerry. But where they are making a big mistake is misunderestimating (George Bush lingo) the voters. The press believe that the voters are stupid, ignorant, and easily swayed. But they fail to understand that just about everyone has already made up their minds about Kerry. He is an unlikeable candidate and a truly awful person. All the press can do is lie for him, not change who he is.

I'm with you. It'd do no good to nuke Kerry in a debate. Kerry does a good job all by himself.

I agree that Bush looked tired. He is usually in bed at the time they were having this so called debate, and I agree that he should not have been touring the hurricane damage.

I was overhearing three 20-somethings at the breakfast stop this morning. THEY didn't sound too confident in Kerry.

At least they were paying attention. I would have said something, but I was in uniform....

The sad thing is, Kerry is such a liar! So many of the statements he made were false! How can W debate someone who isn't bounded by the truth? I think it really opened W's eyes. So many of the slurs get blamed on the campaigns and the surrogates. W saw first hand that most of the slurs are actually coming from Comrade Kerry himself.

It was sickening.

Somewhere I read that the thing people are going to remember from this debate.... is the fact that you can't lead our military in a war if you are calling it the wrong war at the wrong time.

I agree... this is what resonated from the debate.

I think the best thing about the debate is that it was utterly forgettable. Who is going to remember a single thing Kerry or Bush said in a week from now? Luckily that's better for Bush than it is for Kerry.

Kerry didn't get a bump when he chose Edwards for VP.
Kerry didn't get a bump from his convention.
Kerry won't get a bump from this debate.

Kerry did win in that if you want a smooth talking, slick, deceiving, creepy politician he's your man. On the other hand, if you want a REAL honest down-to-earth leader type, Bush is your man.

DON'T BE A GIRLIE MAN - VOTE BUSH!!
