LOCKHART: DEBATE CONSENSUS A 'DRAW'
Unbeknownst to Kerry adviser Mike McCurry, a C-SPAN camera quietly followed McCurry as he found Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart on Spin Alley floor and asked him his impression of the debate. Lockhart candidly said to McCurry , “The consensus is it was a draw.”
President Bush is taking care of business, serious, consistent, compassionate and sincere.
Kerry is one thing one day, something else the next.
Everyone knows these things.
Crayoning his face orange, waxing his hair and frosting it, manicuring his nails and waving them around annoyingly like he's signing for the hearing-impaired isn't getting Kerry any swooning converts.
Bush's comment at one point is a summary of Kerry the kerry-icature:
"That's absurd."
Good point.
I still think Bush needs to bring more than 40 minutes of talking points.
He can point out where Kerry is lying on a statement...and give a defense....
But he can't spend his whole speaking time doing so.
He cannot stay on the defensive the whole time.
If need be...ingnore some of the attack statements....and point out why BUSH IS BETTER...and SPELL OUT BUSH'S PLAN.
My husband missed the debate but just saw the tapes. We've seen W alot in person and my spouse thinks W is coming down with something. His voice was slightly raspy and his speech patterns were delayed, like someone on antihistamines. Also, he looked exhausted.
I flipped over there and I did see one of their reporters commenting that Kerry was asked what his plan is for Iraq, and it took him until twenty minutes later to answer it, and then the stuff he mentioned was stuff that's not in his 4 point plan. That said, Rather had a "Phew! My memo thing didn't kill the guy" look on his face.
Nah, I think he's just a liar! ;)

I can honestly say that I've had a manicure...then the wife likes to play with my toes and then.....ahhhhhh, nevermind.

Bingo! People forget that the first Gore vs. Bush debate was considered a Gore win by most people, but then the analysis started, and he had told so many lies it became "There goes Al making stuff up again, and by the next debate it was a Bush victory in everyone's mind. I concur that will happen here.

I think that GW and his team decided to let Kerry just go for it during the first 2/3's.
Remember, the Republicans have fact checkers vetting every answer, response and utterance that Kerry made tonight.
We will see many of those answers, responses, and utternance in hard hitting ads for our side.
This will set the stage for debates 2 and 3. If Kerry repeats himself re bad answers, responses and utterances in debate #2, he will have defeated himself with his own mouth. Kerry's responses will become great ads for GW.

I think that the President was well within his right..
to be tired and disgusted...
He has delivered what was asked of him..
His record is there for all to see...
Kerry..has not!
It was NOT Kerry, who decided what to do, after our country was attacked...
It was NOT Kerry, who made decisions, after watching innocent people jump to their deaths, rather than burn alive..
Yet he can stand there, and berate our President for his "Huge Mistake"
Seems to me, he said he was "frozen" in front of a TV for, what? 40 minutes or so....
Oh Really!
You give our President grief for his seven minutes, while Air Force One was being secured...
What were YOU doing, Kerry?
Saving your sorry ass?
Not doing anything other than that?
And Then what did you do, Kerry?
Did you unite a Nation?
Did you stand before the world, and tell them...
"You'll pay?"

You're a sissy, a LIAR, and gigolo
Nothing Kerry has EVER done, can compare to what our President faced his first term in office, and his limp and sorry excuse for his service in Viet Nam, pales in comparison..
