BAM!! Bush just nailed Kerry on the absurd "global test" nonsense for pre-emptive war

He is definitely not winning this debate.

I'm afraid you're right. Bush is trying to remember talking points instead of sitting back, relaxing, and just pointing out all the stuff he knows.

Kerry is very good. He's got command of the facts. Bush is speaking in general platitudes.

I don't like this. Bush is doing just about as poorly as he possibly could do.

Thank you all very much for your running commentary and pictures, from a t.v.-less freeper on a remote ranch in Texas.

My radio is wavering in and out of contact. Trying hard to listen. Thanks Jim, thanks all. So sorry I am not able to see the Tropicana Lots Of Pulp candiate.

Kerry is glib. Bush is coming and going with passionate statements and stumbling. But he's for real. He's better at telling stories. Bush is a storyteller. He's not naturally adept at debates. Storytelling is a different kind of wisdom, and deeper.

Well we just lost the election.

Oh, please. You may be too yuoung to remember 1984, when Ronald Reagan bumbled his way through the first debate and went on the win 49 states.

Bush isn't doing well on style, but Kerry's poor on substance.

The President needs to be more on the offense, there is so much to nail Kerry for! Like when he keeps saying that the war on terror had nothing to do with Iraq, he needs to mention Salman Pak, where those terrorists trained to hijack our planes. He needs to talk about how Kerry voted against the armor for our troops. He is letting Kerry get away with slandering and lying about him, which makes it seem as though he is making valid points.

>BUsh is just saying the same talking points.

I agree. I had to shut it off for fear of rubbing my face in the floor in frustration. Bush used a 30 second rebuttal to say the same thing he said four times already. Word for word. And even stuttered and stumbled while saying it.

ARGH, here goes the polls up for Kerry. I love Bush, but I don't think he's done well with this. People have gotten bored and moved on to CSI reruns or something on cable by now.

Kerry is unlikeable and dishonest.

Bush is not polished but authentic.

Watching the debate is like seeing a train wreck... from the cab of both engines at the same time. Both are coming across horrible.

You and I must be watching a different debate from the rest our fellow FReepers

Kerry called Bush a liar, saying he lied on issue after issue, and Bush was MUTE.

Hussein Was Firing Missiles at Our Pilots. Apparently Kerry has forgotten this even though it was in the War Resolution he voted for.

Kerry argues that we have nuclear proliferation because we are not paying attention to treaties. Aruged proliferation is due to failure to sign global warning treaty.
