Enough is enough...we need to go into every no go zone ..tell all the women and children to leave..then bombs away.
Unfortunately sometimes it's the women and children killing our men and women.

Not necessarily .. it may just prove his point that we are winning .. because we are able to mobilize and attack anyplace, anytime!

"being carried out in spite of any political ramifications"
And Bush knows full well .. if it goes bad the dems will trumphet it all over the place .. and if it goes good the dems will trumphet it all over the place.
Hmmmm? Doesn't seem like much of a political calculation at all. LOL!

That's all that matters.

Where are the Gen. Pattons when we need them? We HAVE to break this insurgency soon... we cannot have a military that appears unable to crush a bunch of untrained 'fighters' with no tactical know-how. I know.. I know... after the elections.

A brigade is 3,000 - 5,000 soldiers.

I was wondering .. maybe the President and the PM discussed letting America take a tougher stand in these cities in order to root out these people ..??
I remember Bush telling O'Reilly that "there's a military track and a political track".
Looks like the military track is doing it's thing!!

"I hope they dig Zarqawi's butt out of there preferably dead."
Oh no, no, no! Take him alive. I'm sure the CIA, along with their "guest" interrogators, the Masaad would like to ask him a few questions, for say, three or four months. I can see it now:
"The U.S. government is, by law, forbidden to mistreat any of its prisoners. That's why we've brought in a little friendly assistance. Mr. Zarkawi, this is Mr. Weinberg of the Masaad. Mr. Weinberg, Mr. Zarkawi. Mr. Zarkawi, sir, you, Mr. Masaad, and his two very large, heavy-set friends are all going to spend the next few days getting to know each other better. Our good friends in the Masaad insist on keeping their interrogation techniques 'secret,' even from their friends. And I must say, I respect their wishes and their professionalism, if you know what I mean. You all have a good time, and I'm going to step out and find myself an ice cream cone."

Happened to switch to CNN just as this was going on. Wolfie Blitzer's eyes were about to pop out of his head. Arraf was giggling and laughing, talking about being choppered in on a Blackhawk. Then, as she was speaking, the loud sound of a whoooosh then an explosion. She said, "Oh my God." Then silence. Then, "I have to go. Bye." A click. Wolf kept calling her name, but there was no response. Don't know if they ever re-connected with her.
