Best wishes for recovery for Trixie.

Stay optimistic. My previous dog Brittany had a back problem. She just couldn't get up one day. The vet told me that she had a congenital back problem where the discs had not properly fused during development. He said it would get progressively worse and she would have to be put down eventually.

I took her for a second opinion. The new vet said her breed
had about 20% of the same developmental problem. She also said there was no reason to expect it to get worse. She put her on an anti inflamatory for a week. Brit was on jumping restrictions for the rest of her live and never had another problem.

She missed playing ball but it was a small price to avoid a lifetime of pain.

I am assuming Trixie hasn't had a major accident.

No accidents that I am aware of. She is a jumper...if I am standing, she is jumping til I pick her up.

She also found a chicken bone and tried to bring it in to eat it...I caught her with it and took it away...but it was probably 35 percent gone by the time I saw it.

I can't explain what happened...I am just really worried.
