Detective: I tried to clear Scott Peterson, but evidence kept pointing to him
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The chief investigator in Laci Peterson's murder testified Wednesday that he pursued lead after lead to try to clear her husband, Scott, but that the evidence he uncovered left him no choice but to conclude the fertilizer salesman killed her.
"Were you trying to eliminate the defendant as a suspect in his wife's death?" prosecutor Birgit Fladager asked Modesto police detective Craig Grogan.
"Yes," he said.
"At any time were you able to do that?" Fladager asked.

For the third day Tuesday, defense attorney Mark Geragos quizzed lead investigator Craig Grogan about the double-murder case, in a Redwood City courtroom. The day got off to a shaky start, when jurors felt their chairs moving from an earthquake centered in Monterey County. The court took a short break so members of the panel could calm their nerves, and then Geragos resumed his cross-examination. ........

REDWOOD CITY — Modesto police took more than a year to investigate a tip that a pregnant woman was forced into a van around the time Laci Peterson disappeared, a detective acknowledged Tuesday. But it didn't take them long to rule out as a suspect a neighbor who burglarized the Peterson home and lied to police about past aggression, he also testified.
Police seemingly took every opportunity to make Scott Peterson look guilty of murdering his pregnant wife and unborn son, his attorney suggested Tuesday as he questioned Detective Craig Grogan for a third day in Peterson's murder trial.
Grogan, the lead detective on the case, acknowledged that the Stanislaus County district attorney's office investigated whether a judge had been told by another detective that he had smelled bleach in the Peterson home......

LACI VOW TO STAY HOME AFTER BABY
September 30, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — As Scott Peterson struggled to make a living as a fertilizer salesman, his wife Laci made it clear that she planned to become a stay-at-home mom and avoid returning to work, the lead detective testified yesterday.
"She wasn't planning on working after she had the baby," Modesto police Detective Craig Grogan testified in the 63rd day of Peterson's double-murder trial.
Grogan also revealed that, on May 13, 2002, about a month before she got pregnant, Laci was looking for a $400,000 to $600,000 house.
Laci's Tiffany taste was also reflected in her jewelry, Grogan said. At the time of her disappearance, her husband said she was wearing diamond earrings and one of two diamond-encrusted gold watches she owned, Grogan testified. .........
The prosecution team has suggested that Peterson was concerned he wouldn't be able to support his family.

Bonfire suggested that Fladager should pass around some of Conner's baby clothes as well.
Good info in that CTV article, State is doing an awesome job shooting down MG's cross, painting a very accurate picture of the mountain of evidence they have.
But a fine public service announcement as well.
I also believe that most of the jewelry she was thought to be wearing was located.
This was later reported on the news that they found the said jewelry in her room. That she was wearing no jewelry at the time of disappearance.
She couldn't even wear her wedding band because her fingers were swelling from being pregnant.
Yet another Snotty lie.
Question: what about the second diamond watch Laci owned? I keep hearing them say that one watch was never located. Are they referring to the one that was on Laci's arm? Or are they assuming they know where that one is, and are referring the second watch?
I have not heard anyone mention the fact that Scott had a 4 door truck and it would be so easy to slide the body in the back seat of the truck where nobody could see her. I noticed his next truck was not the same, I guess he already got his use out of the 4 door.
Canadian Outrage was talking about images of Laci's body underwater. This was what I was asking about earlier Running Bear. Are they what you say is not confirmed?
Scott needed all those doors for all his extra girl friends?
Jurors were allowed to hold a maternity garment worn by Laci???
What the hell was the prosecution thinking? How does that prove anything? Garagos can use this as grounds for appeal....
