Actually, I'm ok with the Rangers looking into this - they have been good about working with the FBI when their investigations start crossing state lines, and their reputation is impeccable - and historically NON-PARTISAN - this is what we need here - the Rangers will do a good job, IMHO.

I'm not doubting the Rangers won't do a fine job. I know they will. I was just wondering about forging government/military documents and wire fraud. Those would be federal offenses and I don't know what the jurisdiction of the Rangers is.
