Going Upriver ... without a paddle.
Only it's a creek, and not a river!
How ironic - I'll bet JF'nK is a good paddler, too! Life's not fair.

"There are all kinds of atrocities and I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free-fire zones. I conducted harassment and interdiction fire. I used 50-caliber machine guns, which we were granted and ordered to use, which were our only weapon against people. I took part in search-and-destroy missions, in the burning of villages. All of this is contrary to the laws of warfare. All of this is contrary to the Geneva Conventions...."

The "Long War of John Kerry"? It was longer than that for most of his peers.

Is this film spliced together from Kerry's home movies (staged shots of him going through the jungles with an M-16, etc.)? If so it will seem like very compelling footage to the great unwashed and may indeed swing some back to his side. I hope the Swifties have at least a couple more shots left in their cannon.

Critical acclaim for Going Upriver includes the praise from Time Magazine, The New York Times, and Entertainment Weekly, which gave the film an "A". The usual suspects who wouldn't give the Swift Boat Vets the time of day, but who gush all over this. BARF!

I followed the links and viewed the trailer. Talking heads, Max Cleland's foremost among them, portray Kerry as the greatest exemplar of military valor since Sgt. York. Then Kerry comes home to a nation torn apart, and leads an equally valiant struggle against the Nixon White House by telling truth to power in a manner so searing that Tom Paine, were he there to witness, would surely weep with pride. There are no mentions of the infamous "war crimes" testimony or rendezvous with the Viet Cong in gay Paris. It's the kind of glossy reality that would have a producer at CBS News shouting "Bravo!"

I watched the trailer and am speechless at the ineptitude of the Kerry Campaign. Kerry is an utter fool, a complete failure and phoney-bologna-plastic bannna to the nth degree.

Here's an idea. A lot of theatres now show paid advertising before a before a show. Maybe the swifties can buy some commerical space at the beginning of this movie?
(Improbable, but a hoot to think about)
