Touring the area damaged by Hurricane Jeanne, and traveling to Florida and preparing for the first debate (in Florida), are the topics today.
Here's an interesting caption from Yahoo: "As voters are swamped by a blizzard of rival surveys in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, pollsters themselves are facing increasing questions about their methodology and accuracy, with some polls showing widely divergent results."
The Cheneys campaigned in Minnesota.
Enjoy the daily dose of W @ Sanity Island!

Thanks GEM. I see Laura hasn't forgotten how to hold a wee one either.
I watched the interview of the president and Laura on Dr. Phil today (while trying to wash a ceiling, I might add...) It's the first time I've ever watched that show. I thought it went well - not much politics, which is okay, as it gave a good look at their family life and ways. Flipper and wife next Wed. The preview for it looked far less pleasant, imo.

Lovely pictures of the Cheneys Gretchen. I love the pictures of Lynne laughing and the VP looking at her it warms my heart. I love seeing these pictures it seems to me that at every rally or Town Hall Meeting the Cheneys do there seem to be similar photos. It is lovely to see a couple that have been married for 40 that so obviously enjoy making each other laugh. Yes I know that this is done for the audience but their laughter and enjoyment of each other is IMHO genuine.

Oh pooh! I didn't know he was going to be on Dr. Phil! (stamping my foot) I don't watch Dr. Phil , but I would have today. It has been hard stomaching O'Reilly these past 2 nights. He's such a pompous airbag!

I knew the photos today would warm your heart. =) I agree, the genuine love between the Cheneys, life partners, shows in their joy in being together. When posting the photos, I wondered if Lynne is getting even more enjoyment out of this campaign because she and her guy get to be together so much more than usual.

There were so few photos of W that I swept the corners of Yahoo to get the pics of the Cheneys and Laura. There might be more of W surveying Jeanne's damage.

My local NBC station, KING, has an echo station, KONG (for real, KING and KONG). I get KONG better than KING so I'm taping it at 8 PM when KONG replays it.

Hi, Prairie! Those Situation Room days and nights were an exciting time all right - I earned my screen name many times over!
I'm looking forward to more of the same on Election Night 2004. (and I'll be trusting all my fellow FReepers to keep me positive - the closer we get to the election, the more I find myself re-living the night of the last presidential election......)
I'm praying daily for our President and the upcoming election.

I saw my 3rd John Kerry bumper sticker yesterday and it was a "vets for Kerry" bumper sticker. I couldn't help thinking that whoever it was wasn't really a vet.

I too watched Dr. Phil for the first time today. I enjoyed the show. I liked the fact that "Dr. Phil" stayed away from politics. Kerry will be on next Wednesday. President Bush came across as a real person. Judging from the pictures on Dr. Phil's site Kerry will be just as stiff as ever.

I need to call Cesear's Mom and find out how she is doing.

John Kerry arrived in Florida today, tanned, rested, and ready for the debate tomorrow.
