I think Governor Ehrlich is popular with those who understand he inherited a mess and is doing the best he can with it. He is not as conservative as I would like, but he is doing an adequate job IMO.
Not only will your vote count, but your doing phone bank work and other canvassing will, too.
I hope that will be the situation for me, too, but here in NY it is a bit tougher to see the light.

Reminds me of Georgia, who elected a Republican governor in 2002, the first since reconstruction! Governor Sonny Purdue also inherited a mess. He is doing a good job so far. His approval numbers are high. He's up against the Dem Lt Gov in two years though.
But in the presidential race, Georgia once again is Bush country. I live in the most Republican county in Georgia, its good to be amongst friends! (Forsyth County: 79% for Bush in 2000, in the top 20 in the nation)
Goody! :)
'Tis shaping up to be a nice election night. Knock on wood.
What do you mean Kerry is losing one of my states? It is a Global Warming Catastrophe promoted by a Right Wing Conspiracy! Gerrroooooor!
/sarcasm off
Townsend was quite disliked in Maryland. Especially by
the state legislature. Many Democrats in the legislature
came out against her. Her candidacy was seen as just an
attempt by the Kennedy Klan to try to gain control of
the state.
Last week a Baltimore TV station had it tied at 48 but with Blacks giving Bush 21%. All of this fits perfectly and since rasmussen's polls lean left, I think it means we are winning in Maryland.
We not only went through 9-11 but also the snipers! This terror is still in our memory.
Dims may still own PG and Baltimore but Montgomery might be up for grabs.
Rasmussen polls are garbage.
Why do you all point out Rasmussen's spotty and contradictory results when he produces a poll favoring Kerry, but then trumpet his polls as gospel when they're favorable to Bush??
She never served as Governor, lost both times...
He's a good guy - he's about as conservative as you'll get as a political leader in MD. I'll take anything I can get here in this s**thole.
Maryland Sucks! ;^)
Folks, I am happy to say that this campaign season has gone so well that some of us are actually a little disappointed that Bush hasn't pulled ahead (yet) in Maryland. If someone had told me 6 months ago that people would be closely watching Maryland as a potential swing state, I would have been jumping for joy.
I seriously doubt MD will go for Bush, but it's amazing the poll is this close. It's too bad Ehrlich wrote off the state for Bush so quickly -- who knows what the polls would say had he done some real campaigning.
Democrats in the state were criticizing his Maryland tourism commercials as campaigning.
Believe it or not friend, I am amongst friends even in Maryland. I live on the very conservative Eastern Shore and I have seen the sum total of 4 Kerry/Edwards signs between Salisbury and Ocean City-a thirty mile stretch. I believe the shore went 68% for Bush in 2000. There are many reasons I love the shore, but this is most certainly one of them:)
