CBS Tries to Fuel Draft Rumors (C-BS Biased?)
Media Research Center ^ | Sept. 30, 2004 | Media Research Center

Posted on 09/29/2004 8:05:28 AM PDT by MisterRepublican

Five weeks before the election, Tuesday's CBS Evening News attempted to legitimize baseless Internet rumors that President Bush secretly plans to revive the draft. Reporter Richard Schlesinger focused his piece around how one mother "is petrified about a military draft, and she's not alone. Mass e-mails are circulating among worried parents," as if the political spam had any merit. Instead of trying to allay the woman's fears with facts, Schlesinger instead asked: "Would you vote for a Democrat?" She replied: "Absolutely. I would vote for Howdy Doody if I thought it would keep my boys home and safe."

I think Liberals eat this stuff up. If you listen to the whack-jobs in the press they think CBS is getting railroaded. So what if it is not the truth they have got to believe this garbage or their dead-end philosophy has finally come to it's dead-end

It's not an internet hoax, exactly. Congress actually has 2 bills that call for reinstatement of the draft.

Your statement is half right. There are 2 democrat bills, dead in committee, to reinstate the draft. However, the email campaign that claims Bush is secretly planning to revive the draft IS an internet hoax. Actually, it is even worse than a hoax, it is a fraudulent and hateful campaign of lies.

"FOX needs to report on this 14 Democrats push draft bill..."

Exactly...

Then connect the dots to demonstrate further fraudulent and bias "reporting" by that stealth 527, CBS.

"Intelligent people do not watch CBS anymore."

"Intelligent people" is NOT who CBS targets with their propaganda.

CBS is watched by non-cabel homes mainly in rural areas. They know exactly who they are talking to.

This story was just reported on 980am Kansas City. Keep digging CBS, this grave needs to be big enough for all MSM.

This is hugh and series!

Dubya is a GREAT counterpuncher. This will undoubtedly come up in the debates, and then Dubya will ram the facts right up Kerry's butt! I just hope Dubya points out that the co-sponsors are mostly members of the out-of-touch CBC. That might even win him some AA votes.

HANOI Kerry has, or had at one time, a plan for required national service prior to high school graduation.

CBS is like a drunk - their resolve to do better lasts only until the next bottle/story comes along, then they go back to their dissolute ways. Last night's piece was shameless in its reliance on discredited Internet rumors, it's failure to expose the real left-wing backgrounds of the "Republicans" in the "anti-draft" organization, and its failure to mention that the only real efforts to restore the draft are exclusively sponsored by liberal Democrats. Utterly partisan and shameless.

I guess Joe Lieberman is wishing he had done better in the primaries, eh.

This is as big or bigger than Rathergate. CBS has been taken in my an ancient internet hoax. The story is starting to bubble. Next stop, Drudge...

FOXNEWS just had a nice piece on this but I haven't seen any threads on it yet. It's moving.
