Westport's Martha Stewart has been ordered to report to a prison in West Virginia to serve her five-month term, a source close to Stewart said today.
Stewart had hoped to serve her time in Danbury so she could be close to her 90-year-old mother, or in a prison facility in Florida where there are good transporation links.
The U.S. Bureau of Prisons told Stewart last week to report to jail by Oct. 8. The source said Stewart had been told to report to the federal prison camp for women in Alderson, W. Va.
Stewart's lawyer, in a Sept. 15 letter to a federal judge requesting she be allowing to serve her sentence for obstruction of justice as soon as possible, specifically asked that she not been assigned to Alderson because it is not readily accessible by air or rail.
blonde, brown, red..........hahahahaha
ugh......BUSH "04!!!!!!!!!! lol
I can't feel this way much longer
expecting to survive
with all these hidden innuendoes
just waiting to arrive
it's such a wavy midnight
and you slip into insane
electric angel rock and roller
I hear what you're playin'
it's an orangy sky
always it's some other guy
it's just a broken lullaby
bye bye love
bye bye love
bye bye love
bye bye love
substitution mass confusion
clouds inside your head
involving all my energies
until you visited
with your eyes of porcelain and of blue
they shock me into sense
you think you're so illustrious
you call yourself intense
it's an orangy sky
always it's some other guy
it's just a broken lullaby
bye bye love
bye g-bye love
yeah bye bye love
bye bye love-ov-ov-ove
substitution mass confusion
clouds inside your head
well foggin' all my energies
until you visited
with your eyes of porcelain and of blue
they shock me into sense
you think you're so illustrious
you call yourself intense
it's an orangy sky
always it's some other guy
it's just a broken lullaby
bye bye love
bye bye love
bye bye love
bye bye love

Not yet, but I'm taking some lessons next year. Maybe we can hook up next year.
Have you ever been to Ace in WV? Best place for both.
I have paddled the Greenbrier in WV; like you, I'm on the Richmond ping-list so give a holler in the spring.
How bout' that...
Yet.. CBS(Viacom) can get away with outright sedition and maybe even espionage.. ABS, NBS, and PBS are just as guilty .. not to speak of the New York Times.. and other publications..
The FCC is a shill for the MSM.. and Dan Rather can retire instead of being fined.. poor Martha.. White collar crime.. must be worse than Yellow Journalism's felonys... probably because of the "white" in the description..
About time for a house cleaning at the FCC.. theres skid marks on their collars.. comes from having your head deeply between your legs for a long time...

Will do.
Psssssssssss! Poker!
Someone on the radio who is connected with the federal prison system said that the system likes to jerk around people who say they would like to go to a certain prison. Martha should have said she wanted to go to the W.VA prison and for sure they would have put her in Danbury.
Someone should have told her she's dealing with a bunch of s-heads. Or she should have been bright enough to figure that one out on her own.
Maybe Sheets Byrd will drop by and fill her time with countless stories of billie, and speeches he's given on the Senate floor, and other speeches he's written but not yet delivered on the Senate floor, and his 6 volume book about Senate floor speeches.
There is one thing I'd like to know. Of course this is totally irrelevant to the topic, but, is Martha Stewart really as mean as people say?
There's obviously that big chunk of the population that hate those who achieve and are successful, but I have to wonder.
Oh, did you guys feel that earthquake just now?
My cousin was at a small Washington, DC, party with her. She said she was very unpleasant.
I live in WV and I have lots of family in Richmond.
She's pretty smart and tough, she probably has figured it out. It seemed odd that she had to get a press conference to even get them to move on her case. And after that, after her begging to be assigned (and sentenced in the first place, that trial was delayed), they issued a press release 'ordering' her to prison, which is what she was requesting all along. More insult heaped on. I'm sure that ticked them off, but, this isn't a 3rd world country where people languish waiting for trial and then for sentencing. She must have really pi$$ed off the wrong people. When one thinks of all the kooks out on bail, or choosing their prison, etc., it seems plain they are jerking her around.
Successful entrepeneurs are often difficult people to work for. Martha is not an exception. It's a character flaw, but it's not a crime.
If there were any justice, those "thousands of white males" should ALSO be going to jail if they were involved in securities fraud. I dabble in the market myself, and I think it sucks that I have to play by the rules while the Martha Stewarts of the world think they can simply game the system for their own benefit at my expense. Insider trading and other financial crimes corrode the very basis of our financial system - the thing that has arguably done more than anything else to make us prosperous and successful. And although Stewart wasn't convicted of insider trading per se, she did interfere with an investigation into it and she perjured herself.
I've got very little sympathy for Stewart's plight:
- She lied to the Feds and got caught doing it. I guess I'm a little odd and old-fashioned in that I still cling to the stubborn belief that there should be negative consequences for lying.
- Her new digs for the next five months aren't exactly Attica or Devil's Island. Alderson is pretty plush as prisons go - about the only things she is going to really have to give up for 150 days are the ability to go where she wants to and some degree of control over her daily routine (both of which are torture to a control freak like Stewart).
I don't consider Stewart's punishment to be out of line with what she did. And I hope that the next financial flavor-of-the-month out there will consider Stewart's fate when they think nobody will catch them cooking the books or lying about it to the Feds.

Cool. I live south of the river. Brandermill; in Midlothian
They're going to try to make her life absolutely miserable, but maybe she'll give as good as she gets. I think she's a tough old bird. She'll do okay.
