The link clearly says that the ad was printed in a gay newspaper, and was not intended for general mainstream consumer consumption.
What is such a big deal about that?
Tauiloring ads for particular markets is not unusual in advertising. While I personally don't find the ad appealing, or even creative, it's clearly intended for the market that reads the gay themed newspaper, and also intended to be a bit whimsical for them.
If it featured a man and a woman in bed in an ad in Playboy Magazine, I still wouldn't find it appealing or creative, but I wouldn't find it particularly offensive.
What is the big deal?

The ad is disgusting, but I sure hope the AFA would also be outraged if the ad depicted a heterosexual couple.
I don't see this as 'promoting gay sex' as this ad was in a gay magazine in the first place.
I will continue to buy my Crest toothpaste..

Thanks for the post. There is indeed an agenda on the part of the 2% max "gay" "community" to force the other 98% of us to accept their choice to engage in homosexuality as normal and mainstream. Ads like this support that publication directly, so anyone who helps Proctor and Gamble by doing business with them helps a "gay" magazine to continue to engage in promotion of homosexuality. Giving their lifestyle an appearance of normality promotes general acceptance of that lifestyle, and also makes an environment, "a place," in which they can be comfortable with their choice rather than being confronted with reality that their lifestyle is not accepted generally, and with their own inner sense that something is not right about their choice. This company should be boycotted and I commend the AFA for taking a stand on it.

Why is Wildmon looking though gay magazines in order to find things that will offend him. What exactly does he expect to find? If P&G wants to advertise to a target audience with specific graphics which address that particular group I see nothing wrong with it. This does not warrant a boycott in my opinion.

Since nobody else seems to have noticed, let me point this out.
(1) Boycott three products of P&G Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent, and Pampers diapers. (Make sure your replacement is not a P&G product. Look on the back of the product.)
The ad was for Downy.

Wildmon and his cohort are Grade A kooks.
I've no problem what so ever with P&G selling to an affluent market segment who need their products.
I'd only question P&G's judgement if they were to place an ad for Pampers in the Advocate.

Wow--quite a track record here, and another mention of their support of affirmative action (below, described as "one of the strongest workplace equality policies"). It's yet another exposure of the fact that homosexual activists work for the left while sometimes pretending to be conservatives to get compromises from the right. "Affirmative action" is antithetical to good business practice and conservatism in general. It's a major part of the Democrat agenda.
Notice also, the reminder that the company pulled its support of the Dr. Laura show after she criticized the homosexual lifestyle. Apparently, the homosexual activists only want economic warfare and censorship directed at legitimate family interests while using crude tactics to censor all who criticize the homosexual agenda/lifestyle. The following link is in a large graphic explanation above, and I doubt that anyone here missed it. The rhetoric and name calling of the anti-family liberal left continues regardless of the appearances of proof contrary to their statements.

A Short Track Record On P&G's Promotion of Homosexuality |
- P&G recently wrote to their Cincinnati employees urging them to support the repeal of a city law that forbids giving special rights to homosexuals. In 1993, the citizens in Cincinnati adopted the law by a vote of 62% to 38%. P&G is now working to get that law repealed and has given $10,000 toward that goal.
http://www.pgboycott.com/pginformation.pdf http://www.pgboycott.com/pgcontributions.pdf
- P&G regularly supports pro-homosexual media with advertising. According to the pro-homosexual Internet news site 365Gay.com, "Procter & Gamble has been a long time supporter of the gay community. It has one of the strongest workplace equality policies among American companies and is a frequent advertiser in the LGBT media, including 365Gay.com"
- At the request of homosexual activist groups, P&G dropped advertising support for television talk show host, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, because of her politically incorrect view that homosexuality is wrong. http://davidsisler.com/06-10-2000.htm
- Procter & Gamble is a major corporate sponsor of the annual Cincinnati Pride (homosexual) event celebrating homosexuality. http://www.cincypride.com
- P&G has given $10,000 to Citizens to Restore Fairness, a political homosexual activist group. The co-leader of the campaign is a P&G corporate executive. http://www.pgboycott.com/PGContributions.pdf
- P&G supports an employee network group called GABLE (Gay and Bi-Sexual, Lesbian Employees of Procter & Gamble).
- P&G's benefits program includes domestic partnership benefits for same-sex partners. Andrea Adkins of Dayton, a P&G employee for over 20 years, said that the companys decision to offer domestic partner benefits will be a "very influential for other large typically conservative companies. People do look to Procter & Gamble as an example," Adkins said. http://www.pg.com/canada/diversit.htm
- P&G sponsors the annual Out & Equal Workplace Advocates workplace summits. Out and Equal is a homosexual advocacy organization promoting homosexuality in major companies. http://www.outandequal.org/pages/newsletter/2003-06.pdf
- P&G was named by PlanetOut as a top 20 company to work for based on their pro-homosexual support and benefits. http://www.planetout.com/pno/money/article.html?sernum=308
WARNING: This site contains photos that depict homosexual physical contact.
- In 2004, the Human Rights Campaign gave P&G a score of 86 percent in a Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI rates large American businesses on how they are treating gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. Click Here

There should be no doubt P&G is aggressively promoting the homosexual agenda. A company doesn't create and run an ad that leaves the impression that homosexual sex is thrilling and exciting unless they support the homosexual agenda. One the other hand, one might expect that in a capitalistic society, a company might try to market its products to a segment of society that demographic and marketing research shows as having discriminating tastes and substantial amounts of disposible income.

I tried to post a link to a site where an email can be sent to P&G's top management regardng it's financial support for repeal of Cincinnati's charter article 12 which guarantees employers the right to hire who they choose to hire without government interference. For some reason I could not make the link work, so I will try it again
HERE.If the link works, click on the line indicated to join the boycott, then on that page click the "take action" button to access the email form. If all else fails, try logging on to this url;
http://www.family.org/cforum/action_center.cfm
and follow the instructions to reach the form. I don't know of any other way to email P&G.
