Another blatant attempt to influence the election - going after the youth and women votes that they see slipping away.
Bush needs to do a tough ad that tells what he has said - that they do not WANT a draft, that a volunteer military is much better - people who are there because they chose to be. Indeed, Bush want to even do away with the 'register at 18' and purge the current registered list. NO DRAFT UNDER BUSH>
There are 2 bills currently sponsored for the draft . The senate one bill S-89, sponsored by Se. Hollings - DEMOCRAT - with no sponsors.
And bill H.R.163 - sponsored by Se. Rangel, DEMOCRAT with 14 sponsors, ALL democrat.
Who's finagling for the draft?
Rangel actually thinks a voluntary military is RACIST! (his rationale? Proportionately more "poor" blacks sign up that rich whites!!! Does the word "convoluted" come to mind.
Rather's piece tonight is another blatant, knowingly false, deliberator misleading attempt at influencing an election! That he and CBS still dare to pull such a stunt should tell us all that they have powerful friend in high places. They know they, unlike any republican who sneezed the wrong way, will not be held accountable.
