cBS would say nothing because of the "(D)" after his name.
Folks out of uniform who send a care package (family and friends) or do something else to boost the morale of the troops "serve" in some way too (Bob Hope for example).
Those who Monday-morning quarterback or call the troops' Commander-in-Chief a liar, or criticize the actual war the troops are fighting in while claiming to "support the troops" are doing everyone a very grave disservice (to put it midly).
This is from a source which is trying to show that more prominent Democrats than Republicans have served in the military...the list of Republicans is headed "Them."
Also decorations won by Republicans are not listed, typical BS from the left.

Thanks to all for service to their country. We all appreciate what they have done to protect our freedom.
Congressman Sam Johnson is a leading conservative voice in Congress. He represents the Third Congressional District of Texas, which includes parts of Dallas and Collin Counties.
In the Vietnam War, Sam flew F-4s. During his 25th combat mission, he was shot down over North Vietnam. Sam spent nearly seven years as a Prisoner of War (POW); three and a half of those years were spent in solitary confinement.
From his days as a SMU graduate, to his 29-year career in the Air Force, where he served as director of the Air Force Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) and flew with the Air Force Thunderbirds precision flying demonstration team, he has received many honors and awards. Some of those awards include two Silver Stars, two Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, one Bronze Star with Valor, two Purple Hearts, four Air Medals, and three Outstanding Unit Awards.
Sam Johnson has always remained above all else, a patriot, an American, and a man of freedom.
