Obama is Alive and Hiding in.....Pakistan? (Serious vanity...:-)

Obama is spending very little time in IL. He's running from all but two debates. He has not been able to drive a message. He spent all his money building name ID, and now he and his cohorts think it's over.

The Dems are complacent.

Let's take advantage of that.

Just don't tell 'em...shhhhhh....

;-)

Well, whatever.

Those GOP Congressmen, and that Senator, are on our side and are working alongside us.

As I said, I'm sure they're working on purging the party as we speak.

But I will succumb to the temptation to tell you that if you wish, you're free to go live in Hades.

Whether you intend to be or not, you are seen as a representative of the Keyes campaign on this board, EV. This sort of thing is incredibly rude and completely inappropriate, particularly considering the exchange that led up to it. Unfortunately, it is part of a pattern.

I don't think you should be blaming other people for divisiveness when you insist on using language like this toward your fellow Freepers.

Sometimes a purgitive is needed, when you are afflicted with certain ailments.
Now that we know who our enemies are, we can begin to rebuild...

Sig Heil!

I've experienced four years of incivility from you and your friends.

So kindly don't lecture me.

The exchange you meddle in involves that particular poster digging diligently through his questioning to strengthen his attacks on our Republican nominee.

Certainly you can see that.

What I see is you telling another Freeper - who never insulted you - to go to hell. The fact that you have no humility when confronted with such behavior only bolsters my point.

What's your beef with Keyes? You get seem to take every advantage to demonize him you can. At first I just thought yours was just a "differing opinion" from my own, but you seem to be intent on shouting down anyone who supports him.

We are going to deliver our portion of the Republican coalition in this election: Evangelical and Catholic pro-lifers, Second Amendment folks, the rural vote, homeschoolers, small businesspeople, tax reformers, etc. Alan has made some inroads into the Chicago black community.

Right now we have about a million of them onboard in the state.

This entire group will be voting for President Bush, of course.

The only holdouts in the GOP coalition are the RINOs.

Do you think they'll come around, sit home, or vote for Obama?

It is symptomatic of the "small tent" philosophy of the Keyes campaign.

When you attack and insult them, what reason are you giving them to vote for Keyes? "Not Obama" is apparently an even less effective strategy for Keyes than "Not Bush" is for Kerry.

Keyes isn't addressing the issues which matter to the economic conservative wing of the Republican party.

Bull. You're just not listening.

Alan has consistently been one of the best poiticians in the country on economic issues, and if you could be objective, you would readily admit it.

You don't understand the underlying concept. There's a continual struggle in the Illinois, and national, Republican party between conservative and more liberal Republicans, derisively termed RINOs.

Here in Illinois conservative elements managed to secure the nomination for Keyes, not necessarily a bad thing in itself. The conduct of the campaign is another matter.

The idea is that, since conservative forces brought Keyes here, if he gets creamed really badly, that loss will decrease the power of liberal Republicans in the state, particularly those who haven't had much to do with him. Nothing succeeds like weeding out the voters you don't want, even if you lose, so to speak.

The same strategy could be used on a national level, in which case we'd be looking forward to President Kerry.

Sure are alot of facts you're leaving out of your analysis.

First, those Illinois liberal Republicans you champion are demonstrably corrupt and incompetent, and are the ones who brought the party to its present low estate.

The purge would have occurred whether we were here or not. But since we are, we are working diligently to give it a positive shape and direction.

Those who actually care about the future of our party will se that, and be grateful. And the liberals will whine, like they always do.

I'm not championing anyone. You've been talking about purging voters. And to the extent that you're talking about purging party influence you haven't been talking about corruption, rather RINOs.

I understand the Roeser (who I like) view.

Keyes will lose in a landslide, but his candidacy will make over the Republican Party in Illinois, Keyes is serving as a purgative, driving the moderates out of the party and catching Republicans in Illinois up to the conservative revolution started by Ronald Reagan that passed over Illinois. Keyes won't win, because he's marginalized on the right while Democrats have succeeded in projecting Obama, who has a very liberal record in the state legislature, as a centrist.

I could be wrong, but I think the idea of driving the moderates out of the party by running a conservative who's going to lose, even in Roeser's opinion, is foolish.

I'm curious, those nasty RINO voters you want to "drive out". Do you really think they're moving to Indiana or Wisconsin? They're not, and hopefully they'll vote for GWB. My guess, if Keyes loses, the status of the liberal (not corrupt) wing of the party will be enhanced.

I never said a word about driving any voters out. You're projecting your warped view of how this all works.

I want to bring them in, under principled, capable leadership, and as informed self-governing sovereign citizens..

That is when the party will once again begin to prosper and grow.
