More evidence the Democrats are planning an Election Day surprise for George Bush.
NewsMax's recent "Insider Report" revealed that the Democrats and their 527 groups, as well as the major unions, were launching an unprecedented $300 million "get out the vote" effort to defeat President Bush.
Republican strategists have warned the Democratic efforts may be laying the groundwork for massive vote fraud on Election Day.
Insider Report also detailed that Democrats have been outregistering Republican voters by a factor of 5 to 1 in Ohio and Florida.
But now there is word from Iowa that the Democrats are preparing to snag that state through "voter efforts."
The Des Moines Register details that as of last week 199,592 absentee ballots have been requested -- with most of these coming from Iowa's 20 largest counties.
As the New York Times put it, "Under Iowa law, anyone can request an absentee ballot, no questions asked . . . "
And who is asking for these ballots?
The paper said that a study of the state's 20 largest counties found that "roughly three times as many Democrats as Republicans" have requested ballots.
The Democratic operation in the state has not gone unnoticed by Republicans.
Republican Congressman Jim Leach told the Times the Iowa Democratic Party "has now become the single best organized political party in the entire country."
Back in 2000 Gore lost Iowa at the polls, but still eked out a 4,144 victory after absentee ballots were counted.
With every vote crucial in this contest, Democrats are clearly leaving nothing to chance
Wouldn't it be great to have the Dems commit a bunch of fraud, get caught PUBLICLY, and still lose!?? I'd love to see that, and we must make sure the American public knows what a bunch of frauds the Democrats are!
Bloggers must cover and focus on all Dem fraud cases
This really gives me the red ass! I'm so sick of these games the Dems have to play in order to win. You know it wouldn't surprise me if this has been going on for years. Somehow I think Bush would have won by far more in 2000. It explains why the Dems were so pissed from losing the election, all their fraud efforts failed them. I hope it back fires again, if not something needs to be done about this, someone should take action. These acts are unaceptable.
Me too....It could be on a TV Show..STUPID THINGS CRIMINALS DO..or something like that.
I'm in Iowa, and got a voicemail from a Republican group yesterday warning people about "shadowy figures" in the Democrat party who will try to steal absentee ballots.
This looks like a job for.... JIMMY CARTER !!!... Super Election Sleuth.....
wonder if he's as concerned with Demo voter registration fraud as he is with mythical "voter suppression" in Fla...
Oh heck.. we all know the answer to that one...
Absolutely!
They win by fraud and, like Florida, with posturing stupidly around exclaiming "Vote fraud...count every vote....examine the chads...don't count the absentee ballots"...and generally make us sick!
The morons, including the limousine liberals, etc., take all that posturing seriously as they have IQs that will never reach room temperature.
Obviously the feds are taking notice. Hopefully Ashcroft will keep up the pressure.
Would it be possible to take a sample of Iowa nursing homes and mental health institutions and determine what percentage of their residents requested absentee ballots for this election? If this could be done in the next few weeks prior to the election, it perhaps could out one of the Dem's most dispicable 'tricks'.
Sure it's fraud and illegal, but will the Democrats get prosecuted?
Many states have Democrat Attorney Generals/States Attorneys and they will turn a blind eye to it. On the federal level, if the Democrats steal the election, Kerry can immediately fire all the US Attorneys (as did Klintoon) and put his own patsies in who will not prosecute.
Voter ID laws and absentee ballot laws need changes to lessen this fraud.
I also love the fact that I have an arguing point to Sore/Loserman liberals when they cry fraud. I just ask them "Then why did several thousand Democrats registar twice in NY and FL?? After that question is asked silence usually is the answer.
This is very disconcerting. Al Gore attacked the very foundation of our democracy - free elections. Now every partisan hack form Jimmy Carter to Alan Colmes is spewing forth about election irregularities and disenfranchisement.
Dispicable.
In matters involving possible increase of property taxes, only property OWNERS should vote.
199,592 absentee ballots?
How many people live there that are registered to vote?
As of 2003, Iowa had a population of 2,944,062 (US Census Bureau), of which 25.1% (738960) are under 18. That leaves 2,205,102 that CAN vote.
I can't find any data on the actual number of registered voters...so....they're gonna tell me that, at a minimum, 11% of the population asked for an absentee ballot? (taking the number of those that CAN vote actually DO register).
Dubious I say....dubious.
Ah, but then perhaps you fail to understand the leftist-pinko DemocRAT mindset.
Unfortunately, most already know this fact, but they predominantly fall into three categories:
Democrats - They know it, they don't care.
Middle of the roaders - 'they all do it anyway'
Republicans - 'Where are my testicles?'
What can really be done to stop these lying cheaters? I can accept a fair loss, but not a theft.
The Republican politicians' recent history of selling out the rule of law is coming home to roost. The Clintons, Gore, Sandy Berger, Wilson, the list goes on, and they all got away with it. The Democrats have no fear of repercussions on anything anymore, so they will get bolder and bolder, and if they get away with stealing what is shaping up as a runaway for Bush, the Republicans will have no one to blame but themselves. And I will probably be forced to take up arms.
