ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Peace and Security," and its newest radio advertisement, "Facts." Noting that strength builds peace, the ads highlight John Kerry and Congressional liberals' efforts to slash $6 billion from intelligence budgets after the first World Trade Center attack, their attempts to cut or eliminate over 40 weapons now used in fighting the War on Terror and their refusal to support our troops in combat with the latest weapons and body armor. Script For "Peace and Security" Voice Over: Graphic: President Bush: President Bush: Voice Over: Voice Over: John Kerry and his liberal allies in Congress want us to believe they're strong on national defense. But the facts speak otherwise. FACT: Just one year after the first World Trade Center attack, Kerry and the liberals in Congress voted to cut our intelligence budgets by 6 billion dollars. FACT: Over the past 20 years, they have fought to cancel or reduce 40 key weapons now being used by our troops in combat to protect them and America in the War on Terror. FACT: After voting to authorize the use of force in Iraq, they voted against funding our troops in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. How can John Kerry and his liberal allies protect us when they voted against what America needs to fight the War on Terror?
"Peace and Security" will rotate in on national cable and in select local markets this afternoon. "Facts" will begin airing today in select local markets.
History's lesson...
Strength builds peace...
Weakness invites those who would do us harm.
Unfortunately, after the first World Trade Center attack, John Kerry and congressional liberals tried to slash six billion dollars from intelligence budgets.
And tried to cut or eliminate over 40 weapons now fighting the War on Terror.
And refused to support our troops in combat with the latest weapons and body armor.

What does it take to lead America in the War on Terror? Steadiness, a commitment to make decisions based on what's right, not political expediency.
This is for all of the hand-wringers on FR who were wondering where Rove and the RNC were during the summer run-up of all the MoveOn crap.
They kept their powder dry until it counted and attacked with facts.
Excellent! Tie the Dems Congressmen to their Kerry-anchor, and throw the whole lot over the side!
The "Kerry and his liberal allies in Congress" line allows Bush to jump through a loophole in McCain Feingold and spend about twice as much money as he otherwise would in this time.
Meanwhile, Kerry is calling for an end to advertisements. Maybe he's out of money?
It almost seems like the Bushies have begun running a "coat-tails" campaign, which would indicate that their internal polls are looking pretty good.
Yeah, contrary to the big "closer" reputation that Kerry has,,,it looks like it will be Bush who closes it big this time.
Go W!
Kerry must have caught wind of these with his whining plea to stop the "misleadisments".
What a frickin loser...
Kerry's stand to effectively disarm America over his 20 years in the Senate is damning. Ever since he said he would provide the tools for our troops to fight the war on terror during his acceptance speech at the convention (I'm paraphrasing, but he did say tools), I've been waiting for such an ad from the Bushies.
It ties in nicely with "spitballs".
Agree. About two months ago, the host of a local radio talk show asked impatiently, "What is the Bush campaign doing? Why aren't they responding to any of these attacks?" I called in and offered the opinion that they were essentially playing "Rope a Dope" with the DNC. Rove and Co. clearly had a good handle on the Dems' strategy and I think they decided to let Kerry, Moveon.org, et al. flail away and score some meaningless "early round points." Now that that's passed and the Dems are getting tired, the Bush campaign is pounding away with little effective response from their opponent.
Indeed. The $60 million+ that moveon and the other dem 527's spent had far, far less impact than the couple of million dollars the swiftvets spent. Why? Because the swiftvets were more targeted, presented facts including damning tapes of kerry himself, and had a message that made sense and resonated with voters, as opposed to the obviously outrageous lies promulgated by moveon, Moore, and friends. The ads earlier this year and Moore's film only resonated with diehard libs who were not going to vote for W anyway.
A handful of truth beat a mountain of lies, but the worst is probably yet to come.
