Maybe, as someone posted earlier, we should offer them statehood.
Getting them under what's left of our constitutional government might not be a bad proposition to all.
It wouldn't work --- plus it would be 31 states not just one --- and they would be extremely liberal socialist states we'd be adding. What would we even begin to do with the powerful sindicatos? The unions of Mexico which have a lockhold on that government and the people? Mexicans have a 70% union membership rate (we have something like 10%) --- plus a most of the population of Mexico would immediately qualify for every kind of welfare program there is. Although if one state at a time broke off from Mexico and requested to join the USA --- such as Texas did, I could see it.
