I don't believe that many people are coming across. At that rate, there wouldn't be anyone left in Mexico.

They multiply pretty fast. Come visit East LA. I think the average couple has 8 kids.

"At that rate, there wouldn't be anyone left in Mexico."

There are just that many coming across. There are Mexican towns that can't find any locals to do simple maintenance jobs. There are Mexican towns that now exist only because locals who've left return to VISIT. It was first posted right here on FreeRepublic.

Well, they say there are entire villages lying empty in Mexico. Okay, let's pretend we're Germany or France and millions of the other country's citizens swarm over the border lookign for work and a better life. What would they do? Send them home? Europe is talking to Israel about expert help in building a wall to keep out poor Eastern Europeans...Latvians? We need a solution to this problem, and other than invading Mexico again and fixing the joint, what are our options? They are invading us. And if that isn't enough, we're worried that terrorists are infiltrating, too.

Mexico has an extremely high birth rate --- and while a generation for Americans is about 30 years, it's about 15 years over there --- our population doubled in the last 50 years and much of that doubling was from immigration from Mexico. We can't keep absorbing impoverished people at the rates we've been seeing.

So, Jim - if there are more invaders flooding over our borders than the population of Mexico, then WHERE, pray tell, are they coming from?

Care to speculate?

For starters, I don't think we need look too intently to Switzerland or Poland...

They aren't just coming from Mexico. The guberment is estimating that there are 8-13 million illegals here. Yet, there were an estimated 650K illegals who graduated from high school last year. I'll betchya that there are a lot more illegals in each of grades K5-11 then there were in grade 12. And....how many don't go to school.

Do a google search on alien smuggling. You'll find that Chinese will pay up to $50K to get smuggled here. Now, that's a lot of money for a poor dirt farmer. They're being smuggled in as indentured servants to pay off that smuggling debt.

The rate for a coyote to smuggle middle eastern types across the border is very high. So high, a coyote could probably retire in southern Mexico on the fee.

BBC had an article a few years ago that human smuggling surpassed drug smuggling in profit. Heck, alien smuggling will only get you a slap on the wrist if caught.
