First Print Story on the Outing of Congressman David Dreier on the Internet

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- San Gabriel Valley Congressman David Dreier is the latest GOP member to be outed as a homosexual Republican by Mike Rogers, former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and his blogactive.com Web site. Doug Ireland, longtime radical political journalist, media critic and self-described purveyor of "investigative opinion," defends the outing and assesses Dreier's political future in this first discussion of the outing in the print media. Already Ireland's story has caused a stir. Several radio stations have called Ireland for comment and many are debating whether Ireland should have kept the story on the Internet. "I have not the slightest doubt that the outing campaign initiated by Mike Rogers' blogactive.com and supported by Raw Story's reporting is accurate in exposing Dreier," Ireland insists. "Moreover, in the course of reporting this story, I talked to a gay member of Congress who has observed Dreier in gay behavior and is 100% sure, as this member told me, that Dreier is gay. And, clearly, Dreier's demagogic political homophobia justifies reporting the outing campaign targeting him."

The difference is I don't care what you think about my posts; in fact, if you disagree with me, all the better.

NOBODY CARES THAT DAVID DRIER IS GAY!!!

I sure don't care. I have always liked him. He's on Fox News alot. well, he was anyway. I don't care if a person is gay, I just don't need to have it shoved in MY face.

Why bother being a Christian if you are not going to uphold God's word...where's the honesty in THAT?!

Lots of "Christians" believe that requires snakes and speaking in tongues.

The vast majority do not.

Who is right?

I'll take a gay Republican over a straight RINO any day of the week.

Ditto......... and I'll take a couple of attractive Republican lesbians getting to know each other out on my front swing under the big old oak tree.

;-)

Without the "Holy Rollers" there would be no Republican Party with enough voters to elect the likes of Reagan, Bush41 and Bush43 President or to give the GOP control of the Congress either."

- Reagan Man, I agree. I was just going to lurk but I find that I have to comment. I am a Christian first and foremost, then a Conservative. My husband and I are social and fiscal conservatives, anti communist, anti big government. We have both been conservative since our youth and are now in our late 50's. We do not hate gays and would not hurt a gay person but are in disagreement with their lifestyle and we are against the homosexual agenda. We vote Republican as the GOP party's platform is closest to our beliefs. Our number one concern is that we get the opportunity to appoint good conservative judges before it's too late.

I can only speak for this Holly Roller and her husband, if the Republican party decides we are not welcome anymore, we can always take our votes elsewhere. I am sure another conservative party will arise sometime if this one decides to oust all of us "Holly Rollers" after using us to further their agenda and get enough power to seat a President as well as a Congress.

An ape? Careful or you'll have the left thinking you're their trained monkey.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is attacking Dreier and snapping their fingers telling us to jump... why are you so eager to do their bidding?

You don't consider a lifetime ACU rating of 92 impressive?

I don't care if someone gets a 100% rating from the ACU, if I know full well that the person in question tilts left on two many crucial social issues. The ACU does not do my thinking.

If someone fights against Fed marriage amendment, is terribly weak on illegal immigration, supports those other candidates who would fight allow unborn children to be killed, etc., etc., etc., and the person still gets a high rating from some group (ACU or anyone else), that may speak more about the group needing to adust the standard used.

The ACU is not my Bible on conservatism. The ACU btw, does not give him a consistent rating in the 90s.

Well said...I think the time for a true conservative party is fast approaching...I just hope that the name of it will continue to be the Republicans...

"Right" must ALWAYS be determined by measuring one's beliefs against the words of the Bible...without that, you only have conjecture...
