JEB FIGHTS BACK Mon Sep 27 2004 20:33:05 ET
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's office yesterday said charges by former President Jimmy Carter that the state is "likely" to have a repetition of the voting problems that plagued the 2000 election are politically motivated by Democrats intent on undermining voter confidence in the state.
The WASHINGTON TIMES's Joe Curl will report on Tuesday: State officials also said the former president made no attempt to get up-to-date information before writing an opinion piece and never tried to contact the governor's office or that of Secretary of State Glenda Hood.
"This is a shockingly partisan opinion piece and it's unfortunate that a person such as the former president is being used by the Democratic Party for low-level political rhetoric," said Jacob DiPietre, press secretary for Gov. Jeb Bush.
Developing...
I decided to google around for past Nobel Peace Prize winners, and found this. Reading the list sounds like picking up the Enquirer and seeing "The BEST and WORST Dressed Of Hollywood!". Carter shares the "honor" with Kofi Annan and Yasser Arafat. Basically the list looks to me like "Folks trying to destroy the world, and a few folks trying to save it."
Carter ought to just give up all pretense and move in with Fidel. They can spend the rest of their miserable lives reminiscing about the good old days.
Nice...Bahahahah!
Bingo. Just a couple weeks ago, I heard Jesse Jackson belching about how the we needed to do away with the electorial college.
I work in the tech industry, and you better believe most techies are liberal. The Jesse Jacksons, Ted Kennedys and John Kerrys of the, uh, "progressive" party would love nothing more than to have the public believe in a "foolproof" electronic voting system. You can trust technology! The voting machines will be infallible!
We all know what the "progressive" game plan is, if you don't, I suggest a reading of George Orwell's 1984. I re-read that book last month, and it has more truth on it's pages than anything Dan Rather has waved around on TV in years.
And don't forget the gas lines! And interest rates up to 17%! Ah yes, I remember Jimmah well.
But it does no good for us to fume and fret over this pathetic tool of the Dems. He certainly has no pride. Wasn't it Jimmah who declared the election of Hugo Chavez just recently all legit?
What needs to happen is for the media, yes them again, to not automatically allow ex-presidents to say any damn thing they want in an editorial. Editorials such as the one by Jimmah do not allow any input as if his words alone had some God given greatness and righteousness to them. The Wapo should have just asked the man if he had checked out his accusations, who did he talk to, like that.
With that not happening, Jeb, or the Republicans, should be brutal with this has-been. Go on and mention that hostage thing, the gas lines, the 17% interest rates of his presidency. A lot of Americans today do not remember that time and the pubs should constantly be pointing out that Carter had a failed presidency and was kicked out by a landslide in the next election.
Carter getting any kind of legitimacy is a sin and it's time to put an end to it.
Carter's motives are obvious. He wants to start the "Bush cheated" garbage now, so that when Bush takes Floriduh fairly (once again) the RATS can continue their whining for 4 more years. The only way they can keep their voter base motivated is by maintaining thier anger and hatred. Too bad they don't have any decent policies or original thoughts that might energize and motivate voters based on merit alone.
Actually he makes Ford look like Lincoln!
So Carter's in good company. That's what.
Your apology is accepted. Don't be too hard on yourself though, we southerners are at times all too quick to apologize for the shortcomings of our brethren.
The electorate in 1976 was sooo brainwashed by the MSM that Mr. Carter's peanuts could have beaten Gerry Ford. (I have a real tin foil hat theory as to why Gerry Ford was president at all, but that is for another day).
Jimmah continues to exhibit that, regardless of his esteemed international recognition, his siblings Billy (Moamar's buddy) and I believe it was Ruth (Larry Flynt's gal pal) had better judgment of character than he.
As if we needed to hear Jimmy's confessions....he needs to just shut up once and for all.
No, he's not in good company; he's in appropriate company.
Jimmah Carter was a losuy POTUS and lately he's turned into a lousy American to boot.
I want to put every liberal on notice: If there were efforts made to dissuade people from voting in the '00 election, WHERE IS THE VIDEOTAPE OF SUCH INCIDENTS?????? Since the advent of the affordable videocamera, surely there was one nearby and all of the African Americans being denied the right to vote was caught on film. I also want to see footage of such incidents in the upcoming elections!!!!!! These a-hole liberals never cease to piss me off!!!!!!!! SHOW ME THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!
INTREP
As Rush says, with liberals it's not the nature of the evidence, it's the seriousness of the charge.
Yep.
Uh, the term "good company" is a common way of saying "appropriate company".
Carter would LOVE Jeb if Jeb was a DICTATOR!! Carter was the WORST President EVER!! We are in a War with ISLAMOFACISTS because of Carter.
Like anyone with serious values is going to listen to what the absolute worst President in our history has to say. This man is a walking calamity. He is also responsible for Ted Koppel and "day 445 of the Iranian Hostage Crisis".... "What's that you say? The hostages were released? President Reagan was inaugurated today? Oh that's right."
