Clintonista Suggests U.S. Wage War on Iran (Major hypocrisy alert!)

Something buried deep in a wire story today caught our eye: a former Clinton administration official asserting that the United States might have to start a war with nuclear Iran.

Imagine the uproar if an official in the Bush administration or any other Republican administration suggested such a thing.

Cliff Kupchan, vice president of the Nixon Center and Clinton's former expert on Tehran, said that "if diplomacy fails, there might be no choice but for the United States to lead a concerted military campaign against Iran," the Associated Press reported.

Kupchan said, "If the U.S. moves aggressively, it won't be sanctions; it will be a coalition of the willing."

Where have we heard that phrase before?

Whatever else thats here, the basic premise is 100% on.

Mullahs with atomic bombs is a bad thing.

The only way we could wage this war within the budget we're willing to establish, and without losing more troops than what we're willing to lose, would be to use the a-bomb.

I think the best move may be to let Israel know through "back channels" that they can do whatever they want to deal with Iran. This will be successful if two things are first done: 1. We let the Russians know that we won't interfere in any way with any action they take against the Chechens if they stay out of the way in Iran; and 2. We let the Saudi royal family know that the only way they get to stay in power and keep their money is if they stop interfering with US and Israeli foreign policy, and this includes the covert funding of terrorists.

For some funny reason, I have a feeling that has already been done.

The only way that Israel could defeat Iran would be thru nuclear war. I can't see that happening.

Typical of the liberal scum...

They plant a devisive seed, just like 'bringing back the draft'

It gets repeated over and over, but they conveniently forget
to credit the source. Eventually it is attributed magically
to 'the Republicans', later it is attributed to George Bush.

Let's run a test.   Since "Hanoi John" won the Vietnam war all by himself, why don't we send him to Iran to show us how to do it.   If he wins, he becomes president.   If he loses, we can auction his privates at the next Rocky Mountain Oyster roast.

Obama just said the same thing in Illinois.

IMO, they are simply trying to establish their bona fides as psuedo-hawks, knowing the mood of the electorate.

Of course the same people, once in power, would sell our national security down the river in two seconds flat.

It's the old truism: How do you know a Democrat is lying? He's moving his lips...

Clinton did nothing for all that time and now look at the mess we have with IRAN!
