Yeah newbie. When someone is trying to kill you and you kill them first, you have a good reason to feel happy.
What's so damn hard to understand about that?

he felt a sense of happiness when he killed the guy? OOOOOOKKK Nice try. But the context was
"I had many emotions kick in at once. I felt a sense of purpose, happiness, and sorrow, which all hit me at once."
And secondly, I don't find it odd that he would be happy to kill the ENEMY that was coming to kill him and his comrades.

He also felt sorry, as well as other things al at once.
Probably happy that the guy hadn't killed him.

That sounds about right, and matches my experience in a firefight. You're HAPPY he's down. . .he's not shooting at you anymore.
This isn't rocket science, and there IS an emotional release from the lessened pressure. . .

He felt a sense of happiness when he killed the guy? That meant the guy would not kill one or more of his guys. In war, and this is a war, that's plenty of reason to be happy at a kill. He also indicated mixed emotions which your comment chose to ignore

If you aren't a troll, you need to revise that post, PDQ.
Try this: "He was happy when he killed the guy? OOOOOKK!!! That means the liberal wimps have not castrated EVERY GI! Marines are still feeling the way Colonel Jeff Cooper SAYS they should feel! OOOOOKK!"
On the other hand, if you are a troll, just leave it the way it is.

Have you ever been In combat?
in fact have you ever been in a fight for you life at all?
I am pretty sure I don't think so!
Also look at the context of what the article says.
There were many emotions running through at one time. Yeah there is a certain sense of happiness that I got the guy that was going to kill me first.
Here is a helpful suggestion. Comment on that which you know. If you have not been in that situation and you don't know the emotions involved in it. you come off sounding pretty bad.
Remember there are people out there dying for you rights. If you cannot respect and appricate that, maybe you should consider a country a little friendlier to you Ideals. Try France or Canada maybe!
