Kerry: Nothing to Lose
Opinion | 09/26/2004 | TribeMike

OK, here we go again. Drudge references an article on Sunday, September 26 with the heading "Bush Team Wants to See Kerry Sweat." Here is the article Drudge references:

http://www.time.com/time/election2004/article/0,18471,702075,00.html

My thinking is that Kerry really has nothing to lose. If he is defeated, he remains a gigolo - plugged into a $2Billion fortune. Therefore, he will SAY ANYTHING to win the debate...he has walk away power and nothing to lose.

Bush on the other hand has a great deal to lose. He has led the war on terror and implemented a Middle East policy based on a realistic view of the world today. He could lose it all -- fall very far -- and become a byword in American Politics.

The media will not expose Kerry's incompetence and mendacity but continues to show a spotlight on any flaws of Bush's actions. It is really frustrating.

This situation means that the best Bush can hope for in the debates is a tie. Even then, Kerry will be whipped up by the press as "standing up to the President" and the polls will probably tighten up.

this is very simple i think kerry can not think or act under pressure.... he ran away in the swift boat and he does it in his own speaches..... he didnt show up for his intelligence briefings... so....

make it seem like it is all or nothing...

and we can help him build the pressure...... W can take it.... he can not ......

You are kidding right? Bush is playing to win and no matter what the press tells us people are able to think for themselves. Years ago my grandmother would turn off the tv after a speech because she had no interest in hearing the talking heads describe what she just heard. She could make up her own mind and so can everyone else.

Some thoughts:

Bush does not have his ego pathologically tied to being President, the only ego involvement he has is doing the best job possible.

However, Kerry has his ego on the line in this election. Kaptain Ketchup has had a life-long obsession with becoming President. If Kerry loses, it will be a crushing blow for him.

"...he remains a gigolo - plugged into a $2 Billion fortune."
Isn't it interesting how other people's money always seems to grow greater [something akin to the grass on the other side of the fence]? Another day there was a post about Forbes 400 list, with Theresa Heinz pegged by forbesians at $750 million. In the same vein Kerry has been repeatedly described as the wealthiest presidential candidate ever - conveniently forgetting the candidacy of Ross Perot [3+ Billion at one time, four times Theresa Heinz Kerry now].

.
Kerry has planned his whole life to become President. His whole, rotten identity is wrapped up in this pursuit. He is an arrogant elitist who thinks Bush is dumb.

He has his whole life to lose . . .

Check out the John F. Kerry Timeline.

I ALWAYS turn off the tube after the debates. I refuse to sit through the babble of the slanted media.

Suddenly Pres. Bush is a world-class debater, if you listen to McAuliffe today and ALL the others the past week or so. Here we have (according to their rhetoric) a moron who hasn't read a book and can't think or talk, able to win debates easily...Wow, talk about raising expectations. It is all so obvious, only an idiot would not see through it, and esp. with all the contradictions to what they usually say about him.

People like Kerry are not in it for the money. Kerry has always wanted power above all else. He will say anything if he thinks it will win him the debate because he DOESN'T have walk away power. If he loses now he is nothing more than a Senator who is doomed to be nothing more than a Senator. For him this is the end of the road. Where you might be right is the fact that Kerry has to throw a hail Mary pass during the debate. There are only a few minutes left on the clock and he is way behind. It's time for risks. Unfortunately for Kerry, hail Mary passes are as often caught by the opposing team as by your own team.

I think that you are right, Kerry has nothing to lose. I hope that he goes to the debates, and starts spouting lies and nonsense.

We just learned from the Rathergate fiasco, that the bloggers, and in particular, freepers, will parse and vet every word this Nothing to loser has to say.

It will be painful.

EXACTLY!! Which is why his big decisions about national security are based on what is right and wrong, and not what will earn him votes.

The big difference between Bush and sKerry is that (undecided) viewers will know which is sincere and which is not. It's been said many times... agree with Bush or not, you know exactly where he's coming from.

I think, too, with the national spotlight on Kerry, the people of Massachusetts have gotten a much clearer look at their "Senator". It may be that if he loses the Presidency, he could lose his job as Senator as well! Didn't he just narrowly win last time?

Yes, but also, how many politicians who have run for the presidency went back to being what they were before. I am trying to think of one who went back to being a senator, congressman, or governer and I can't think of any.

I guess Lieberman doesn't count but I'm pretty sure sKerry will be back in the senate till he's voted out.

If Kerry really thinks he has nothing left to lose he will be a danger to himself far more than to Bush. I don't think it would take all that much to send him over the edge, and he seems oblivious to how poorly he comes across most of the time.

The thing that scares me the most about Kerry over these last few weeks of the campaign is that he will stop at NOTHING to win. He's a political terrorist with a "scorched presidency" philosophy. He'll humiliate our allies, discourage the American people from paying the price of freedom, and try to incite more violence in Iraq in order to boost his election hopes.

HE IS WILLING TO INCITE THE ISLAMISTS TO KILL MORE OF OUR CHILDREN BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER IN ORDER TO DISCOURAGE AMERICANS FROM RE-ELECTING BUSH.

That is worse that liberal politics. It is unAmerican. He is a TRAITOR to everything that red-blooded Americans hold dear. I cant WAIT until Nov 3 when we can just ignore him communist blather.
