There is a reason why most senators never run for office...because of their voting records. And if you have served more than 12 years in the Senate...you have tons of voting records to examine...which can kill a presidential effort. GW will have a ton of ammo to use in the debates over this small but significant issue. Zell likely trimmed another percentage point off the Kerry effort by this announcement.
