I have seen this - I don't remember where, it was not long after 9/11 but I confirmed it at the time - that 1 1/2% of the U.S. population is of Arab extraction but only 1/2% of the U.S. military is Arab. Make of that 67% under-representation what you will. I call it a blessing in disguise among other things. It would be nice if some other FReepers could confirm or refute...

The article continues to describe our schools as instruments of shaytan, television as idol worship, and Superman as a caped Kaffir dressed in underwear with godlike powers...

Of course once upon a time most Arabs were Christians. Skipping ahead to the here and now there are many Arab Christians who are faithful to Judaeo Christian western values and this nation.
OTOH, you of all people should be aware that Muslims of any stripe cannot be trusted whether Arab or Turk of British born...etc.!
Most Arab Jews (collectively known as the Mizrahim) now live in Israel, although there are still significant communities in Morroco, Algiers and Tunsia. The most famous Mizrahim is probably the French film director Claude Lelouche.
Whoo, why are you so mad? My point is that I have not heard or seen any public demonstrations on the streets of our cities condemning these atrocities. For the world to know our anger and sorrow it must be televised. That's all. As for Mr. Jim Robinson, I am sure he understands my sentiments.

I happen to feel that I can applaud & respect Mr. Alawi for all he and certain of his countrymen are doing and still reserve my trust.
As for Musharref, he is acting solely in his own personal interest and I don't trust him at all. The man was the Taliban's biggest supporter until it became dangerous to his political position to continue that support.
You don't hear too much of Arabs Jews in general. Never heard of Mizrahim. Any of them live in America?
Ever heard of the term Sephardi? They are usually called Oriental or Ladino Jews. They are from Spain, Southwest Asia, and North Africa.
My view to a "T"....not to mention the hundreds of Muslim "religious leaders" who preach for the killing of all who are not Muslim.

This has been mentioned before on this thread, but I'll say it again: Many Americans of Arab descent are Christian. Many Arabs in the Middle East are Christian. They are as Christian as anyone, and in fact many of them practice their faith at the risk of their own lives. Many Arab Christian communities can trace their existence to the Apostles. We are not at war with the Arab race.
