And torching on the way out.

Actually I would have preferred if US troops had stayed completely out of any mosque raid. The Iraqi forces should have been raiding these "terrorists outposts" which is all most mosques are all along but it's not a good idea for us to come along. Iraqi people are easily influenced and we don't need Aljazeera video of U.S. troops coming out of a mosque.

I disagree, We want our troops there to support the iraqi
troops and observe them in action. It would be hard for the "Scumedia" to whine when the Iraqis themselves are there with us. I dont Buy this idea that the Muslims are so Offended, when they have no problem going into a mosque and Killing their rivals..Let the few get indignant! If this is the solution to ending this Urban conflict, then so be it.

The Americans stayed outside the mosque. The Iraqi guards are the ones that went in the mosque and searched. However, they didn't find any weapons.

Oh, the horror of over-turned furniture. Would they have preferred the US troops leave beheaded bodies behind?

Is it possible that the U.S. troops were not entering the mosque? Maybe they were just providing covering firepower for the Iraqi forces.

Either case, the worst I would expect as the result is a little more foaming at the mouth than ususal. The Craftsman leaf blower, from Sears--and on sale this week I think-- would solve that.

"Insurgents would never enter one of our Christian church's. (sarcasm)" Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that they blew up five Christian Churches in Iraq while their congregations were inside? We treat these b@stard terrorists/insurgents too kindly.
