Thanks, we need them. Specifically, my sister, Alice, is on Clozaril, an anti-psychotic that can only be refilled once a week in conjunction with blood tests. Her refill appt. is scheduled for Monday.
We are praying that we won't lose power again, like we did with Frances- although I just stocked up on canned ravioli and juice boxes, hubby bought beer.
My neighbor has a 100 year old oak, whose canopy of branches sway over my house - an old bungalow in Jacksonville. My daughter, son in law and grandbaby usually sleep on that side of the house, but not tonight.
My younger sister lost her home and three busineses, on the intercoastal in Gulf Breeze in Ivan. She and her husband are living on their boat.
You in Vero?
You either buy us all a beer or we burn you at the stake.
They need some kind of a break in Haiti I just wish I saw one on the horizon.
Hatches battened!
Prayers up for those in Harm's Way.
I heard one of the weather guys say during Frances that those large eyes are not typical of the most intense storms.
However, in spite of that, I'm not willing to say whether that could be a good sign or not in this case, as the TPC was talking about cat 4 status earlier in the day.
Wow that quick, I thought we were looking at after midnight.
Last time I had a brownout I was a passenger on an Alaska Airlines MD80 taking off from Seattle in 45mph crosswinds, scared the...wait...is that the kind of "brownout" they meant?
I am sitting here in Northern VA. I haven't even seen my home damage from Frances.
Now I am again worrying about my home in Indialantic. That is the barrier island area of Melbourne.
I have a daughter evacuated in Sebastian, just north of Vero Beach.
A hit in Fort Pierce gives us each the North East, strongest, part of the storm.
Anyone with information on that area let me know!
I'm thinkin bout ya pal! How is it going?
What direction from your house is the oak? To the north?
I hope your places do OK, I love those barrier islands around Melbourne.
Melbourne/Palm Bay is getting winds that are starting to uproot trees. Went outside to let my puppy out and the poor thing almost blew away. The rain isn't to bad though.
Just called my sister's home (she lives a couple doors away) and they have one of those fancy weather stations on their roof that gives info onto a digital readout in their house.
We're getting 35 mph gusts in St. Pete...no rain.
name your beer choices...
my ideal for dying is NOT burning alive. Hit by car while biking, eaten by shark while wind surfing, or caught in screen while kayaking (oh, yes the good old boring heart attack, will also do)
BTW.. posted by "chair" on the ATRW thread:

JEANNE has taken a sharp left turn from track.
LANDFALL position looks to be significantly off target, both as regards location and time. Believe landfall will be a few miles north of West Palm Beach somewhere around 10 PM ET!
Thanks for those updates. Got a link to a site that has those?
what's the number of your local humane society, you abuser?
:)
I always worry about the pets
