September 25, 2004 -- John Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, is one of America's richest people and ranks 389th on the big-bankroll list with a $750 million net worth, according to Forbes magazine.If Kerry were to win the White House, they'd be the richest first family ever. The Los Angeles Times estimated her wealth even higher at $1 billion. She has refused to release her full tax returns.

Once again it is amazing that our media system allows this to go unchallenged for democratic candidates. I imagine some of the charities she runs/contributes to are totally whacky left-wing stuff.
actually, her late husband's parents should really get the credit (and maybe grandparents, too - not sure how far back the family business goes)

No, if Kerry were to win (spit), it would be the first time in history that the president was indentured to the first lady (I HATE USING THAT TERM FOR TERESA). She OWNS him, plain and simple. And what would this woman want in return???

That is a very good point I hadn't though of in those terms. Clearly she has some power in that relationship...she has inserted herself into the campaign, and I cannot imagine Kerry had a lot of real choice in the matter. At least some of his advisors must realize every time she opens her mouth there is a decent chance she will say something SO arrogant that it hurts even him.
It was recently reported that the Heinz Kerrys paid 12% tax rate in the year 2003. 12%???? That kinda takes the wind out of the sails of Kerrys roll back on tax cuts for the rich since they prove they dont really pay taxes anyway.

TerAYsa wears the pants. Period. If Kerry were president, he'd still grovel to her because the salary and pension, even book deals and speaking engagement fees are nothing compared to her fortune. The prenup would be interesting to see. If she dies first, does he get a settlement? Is he named her executor...I would think not. Either way, he'll never leave her voluntarily because all he cares about is the Heinz fortune.
Good then I never have to feel bad again for not buying Heinz products.
