Traylor had a very successful run as The Big Bossman in the WWF years ago, and another semi-successful stint with the WWF in the late 90s as a somewhat repackaged Bossman.
His cause of death is a mystery right now. He did not have any known health problems.
-----
WWE.com has posted the following statement regarding the death of Ray "Big Bossman" Traylor:
World Wrestling Entertainment is saddened by the loss of Ray Traylor, professionally known as the Big Boss Man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Inside the wrestling ring, Boss Man was one of the most feared and respected Superstars of his time. Outside the ring, however, Traylor was a kind, gentle, charitable, compassionate family man.
While his WWE persona was known for antagonizing others, the real Traylor stopped at nothing to put smiles on the faces of the children he would meet.
Traylor began wrestling in 1984. While serving as a prison guard in Cobb County, Georgia, Traylor caught the attention of a local Atlanta wrestling booker. After months of learning the ropes and paying his dues, Traylor was re-christened Big Bubba Rogers. Not long after, Big Bubba Rogers was in main events all over the country, serving as Jim Cornettes bodyguard.
A few years later, Traylor traveled to Stamford, Connecticut, to meet with Vince McMahon. Shortly thereafter, the Big Boss Man was created.
As a member of WWE, Big Boss Man rapidly moved up the ranks to main event status. It was as the Boss Man in WWE that Traylor enjoyed his greatest success, facing off against many huge names Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Andre the Giant.
Ray's spirit and warm nature will never be forgotten.

As always, if you'd like ON or OFF my wrasslin' ping list, let me know
Anabolic steroids strike again?
Put me on your wrasslin' ping list, please.
You got it.
How about sending that Canadian Mountee wrestler to jail after defeating him in a match?
Ah yes, Jacques Rougeau.
I'M DA MOUNTIE!!!
He never looked buff. He just looked big. Do you think he took roids?
I think its more pain killers than steroids. Those rasslers do severe damage to their bodies on a nightly basis.
When you go back and look at the early deaths of guys like Big Bossman...there are quiet alot. You rarely see any wreastler die after 65...most go before age 50. You have to remember that they have to put a terrific show at least five nights a week, and keep themselves looking good...and manage the injury problems. Its a terrific money-making enterprise...if these guys would ever save their money right. A great example was Tommy "Wildfire" Rich who was pulling all the right strings between 78 and late 80s. He should have retired and been satisifed, but ended up still doing it in the late 90s and was a terrible experience to watch him at that age.
now that was funny!
"my daddy, my daddy WAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!"

Please add me to the wrestling Ping-list.
Thanks
I don't think so. He did exhibit the "benefits" of steriod use that you see with those that do like Randy Savage or Hulk Hogan or Triple H or the Govenator who wrongly believe that you could safely apply the use steriods in body building.
WCW sometimes had that air of ridiculousness that made for some funny bits.
"LET ME TELL YA SOMETHIN' SHAVAONIEE!"
Done
Very sad. Thank you for the ping.
