Photobucket is handy because it makes image tags for you, making posting easier.

A photo guy I am NOT! I can take them but thats about it. These images are in raw format 5.0 megapixals and I have NO idea how to get them down to size for posting to the web.

You need to save them in .jpg form. Right click the image, open up with a photo editing program, i.e. Photoshop, and save them in .jpg form. This will take the image from mega to k bytes. Make sure you use the 'save as' command and not 'save'. You never want to alter the original image.

BTW. Never send a mega sized images in e-mail especially if you have dial up. It will take forever to send the message.

What software came with the camera?

Most cameras come with some basic software to convert raw images to tifs or jpegs. Nikon comes with Nikon View or Picture Project. If you don't have a disk, you can download a trial of Bibble which will convert raw files to jpegs or tifs.

Once you have COPIES in jpeg or tif format, you can use an image editing program like photoshop elements or you can download a trial version of Paintshop Pro

If you are feeling adventurous and have a fast broadband connection, you can download a 30 day trial of Adobe Photoshop. There is also a link to download a trial of Photoshop elements.

Whatever you do, make sure you save the original raw files and work on copies only so you don't turn an irreplaceable photo into a 320 x 240 jpeg. (speaking from experience)

I have been looking for something like that on this site. Thanks.

Or you can take a walk down to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of a book explaining how to read HTML code. It's not that hard once you get the hang of it. My book is a little overkill at 1130 pages, but it explains just about everything in HTML.
