Well there you have it!
A brave young man, who represents and legend of brave souls who are doing the hard work of protecting this great country.
These people have counted the cost and decided that in the pursuit of freedom and liberty, both ours and others, that any price is worth it.
They are not saying that they want to die, but that they understand the mission and are willing to pay the cost.
Someone should send this to the Kerry campaign, but He would not get it.

What a guy! We should all be so fortunate to have raised such a fine young man who knows the difference why we fight and do the right things in life. Kerry isn't man enough to even wipe the dust from this soldiers shoes.

Wow. Great post. Prayers for all our brave service men and women.
To: grace522
Thank you for your service, sir.
I would have gone back on active duty, after Beirut 1983, if Reagan had responded to that attack. I lost friends there, that Sunday morning. Their deaths, and 239 more Americans, were in vain.
Major Macroglou and Capt. Bill Winter. RIP, my friends.

Sent from a friend, posted with permission. K. No Prob.
Very power full. Very good language. I would like to get a release from this soldier, in order that I might release this to a more general media.

I hope you don't mind that I've also posted this to the democratic underground forums... I'm a long time lurker here, never posted on any poltical forum or blog but I was compelled to share this story. IMHO, there is no subject more important to the American people at this point in history. As a vet myself, I pray that more people will "get it".
If you or the original author does mind my reposting of it @DU, I'll delete it. It hit me so hard that I didn't think before I posted it.... No, I'm not a Democrat. :)

What spirit! I thank God for this tired Marine.

Thank you for sharing this letter.
I forwarded it to a handful of friends and family with the request that they read and forward along to others.
Rest in peace John Phillips - lost in Beirut in 1983. We miss you.

No problem at all for USAFVet34. To Focault...I'll try to get a release from him but not sure how long it will take and what format you want. Let me know.
