I think that the position presented by Judge Barbara Pariente, is gravely inexact: the problem does not lie in choosing between 'emotions and rules,' but between defense of a human life and the rules,"

Is it possible for the parents to move her to a new state that would protect her?

"Terri's husband pursues obsessively his wife's death (alleging, naturally, that he does so out of compassion for her). Terry's parents are fighting to save her life. If only our judges would learn something of the wisdom of Solomon," he concluded. Catholic Ping - let me know if you want on/off this list

No, he is her guardian. Her parents cannot even visit her without his permission.

Um... who said anything about it being legal for them to do it? Anyway I would imagine that would be a very hard thing for them to do.

He is so disgusting. Why doesn't he just leave her alone and let her parents care for her. Can't he just divorce her, must he kill her? This is just so sick.

I wish I knew. Money maybe? No one knows how much is left from the lawsuit that he was awarded to pay for her care.

Money maybe, or quite possibly he doesn't want there to be any chance, even the remotest, that she might recover to the point of some sort of communication. (I think he caused her 'accident'.)

They aren't even allowed to visit her most of the time. The husband has complete and total control over her and usually makes it very difficult for anyone from her family to visit.
It is my fervent prayer that there will be a very special place in hell for this man. This poor lady doesn't even get her teeth brushed thanks to him. She has NEVER been given even the most rudimentary physical therapy to prevent her muscles and joints from deteriorating and he's never allowed the family to provide therapy to see if she has any potential for rehab. Meanwhile, the husband has moved on with his life, including a girl friend and a child with her.

re: "No one knows how much is left "
Every one involved in the case stresses that this is not a matter of money. There is something else going on. One theory is that she didn't end up in her present state by accident and that is she ever wakes up she will tell the real story. I find that idea pretty far fetched, but who knows what sort of reasoning a man like this might come up with.

Apparently, once he begins a task, he sticks to it 'till it's done.

My suspicion is this: that the husband knows that whenever she dies, there will be at least a book and most probably a movie that will reap him untold monies. Not only has he a girlfriend, but TWO children with that woman. He is still legally married to Terry, and I think the parents made a big mistake in not trying to get her divorced, somehow, from this monster many years ago.
Without some divine intervention, in some untold and fantastic manner, I fear that this will have a very bad ending.

Republicans in Florida have actively participated in the failure to defend Terri's Life. They ordered her death. They laugh it off at the local GOP headquarters. They say they are pro-life while saying that it was Terri's wishes and that Greer followed the rule of law. INTERESTING HOW THE GOP HAS GREER'S TALKING POINTS. How high up does this collusion go? Jeb may be the emperor with no clothes just trying to fight off the hurricanes. He sounds like he's going to throw in the towel.
PRO-LIFE REPUBLICAN IS AN OXYMORON IN PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA.

"It is also inexact to say she should be "allowed to die."
It would be more correct to say she would be "left to die."
Both are wrong - because she is NOT dying. For her to die, she has to be killed, which is what her husband is trying to do.
"He is still legally married to Terry, and I think the parents made a big mistake in not trying to get her divorced, somehow, from this monster many years ago."
They tried, but her demon husband refuses. HOW in the world is someone allowed to have so much control over someone else, where he even orders that she not have her teeth brushed. You're right - he IS a monster. Oh, and she is NOT unconscious - she is brain-damaged. Alert, awake, responsive, but, brain-damaged.

This is judicial activism gone amuck. You silly legislative body you can't go passing laws to govern the state, the court can decide whatever it wants and you are powerless to do otherwise. na na na ( FL Courts to Judiciary and Administrative branch ).
Further I saw an article today about this being about "A womans right to die". Horsespit. Its about a mans right to kill his wife, slowly and painfully.
If Jeb doesn't put the state police in the hospital to enforce his order ignoring the courts then I will know the republic is in serious jeapordy.

The evil irony and horror is that Terri does not want to die. She experiences joy and has a sense of humor. Feeding tubes were invented in the 1860s and they are a tube in the stomach, not in the nose and it is run by gravity, not by any fancy life support mechanism.
Failing to defend Terri: The media purposely has also failed Terri. They've been AGAINST HER. What would we do without the internet where the truth is getting out.
If anyone wants to help, there are two vital steps to get involved. Email fight4terri@aol.com and subscribe at www.terrisfight.org. THE TIME IS NOW TO GET ON BOARD. Florida failed Terri but Floridians with help from many other places aren't abandoning Terri or her lovely family. We don't know what's going to happen but we welcome everyone to join us.
FINALLY, it must be said that REPUBLICANS ARE THE ONES WHO ORDERED TERRI'S DEATH and have sided with the ACLU.
