Hinojosa coordinating with Democratic leaders tonight Leading Hidalgo County Democrats and campaign contributors are meeting tonight to plan for a possible visit by Teresa Heinz Kerry to the Rio Grande Valley in early October.
Tonight's meeting, organized by U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-Mercedes), takes place at the Cornerstone Grill in Edinburg, Border Buzz has learned.
Valley Democrats view a visit by Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, as a substitute for a campaign swing by vice presidential candidate John Edwards that never happened.
Edwards was due to visit McAllen in July for an event organized by Kerry's top Texas strategist Ben Barnes. Valley Democratic leaders said a last minute scheduling conflict stopped Edwards from coming. Hinojosa vowed at the time to get Kerry or Edwards to the Valley at some point during the campaign. With the focus now on battleground states, a visit by Heinz Kerry may be the best Valley Democrats can expect.

Are we sure they are meeting in Texas? I mean,,the Texas democrats have a tendency to run out of state when it gets a little hot here.

This is really a business trip for TeRAYza. She's gonna tell those Hispanic women to pick them tomaters faster, or else.
