AP Poll: Bush Builds Advantage Among Men

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush solidified his advantage among men during the last month and holds his highest ratings since January on job performance, the economy and Iraq, according to an Associated Press poll.

Bush has a 7-point lead over Sen. John Kerry - 52 percent to 45 percent among likely voters - in the AP-Ipsos survey less than six weeks before the Nov. 2 election. Independent Ralph Nader was backed by 1 percent.

The president held the advantage despite increasing violence in Iraq and a week of attacks on his Iraq policy by an increasingly combative Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee.

``We took a lead after our convention and the lead has held,'' said Matthew Dowd, a senior Bush campaign strategist. Bush has a slight lead in some polls, and is running even in others.

Among registered voters, Bush leads Kerry 51 percent to 42 percent, while Nader had the backing of 2 percent.

I don't think I know any white, at-least-nominally-Christian guys who like girls that are voting for Senator Kerry.

Every time Kerry opens his mouth, his poll numbers drop.

CT
MA
NY

CA
DC

ME(split)

for Kerry, the rest to Bush. Bush gets one of Maine's votes. Electoral count 375/163 Bush, if I counted correctly.

Maybe we can spread a rumor that voting is fattening, to discourage voting by single women (who may still be leaning toward Kerry).

I saw a soccer picture of himin the paper from this same photop kicking the ball - perhaps a backwards shot. Anyway - the ball is way up in the air and Kerry has one leg on the ground and the other horizontal. Looks like he is "goose-stepping" like a Nazi.

He's always trying to look spontaneous by playing with a football or, in this case, a soccer ball on the tarmac.
Unfortunately, he usually ends up looking like a poseur.

Can we expect him to branch out to more sports?
Rugby, field hockey, cricket and bocce fans will feel left out if he doesn't.
