The European Union has achieved much, but it may now be pushing up against its limits, says Gideon Rachman

~snip~

This survey will conclude that the EU may indeed split.

Gee, the Europeans can't even form a coalition amongst themselves, but John Kerry's gonna get them all on board for Iraq!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

There certainly is the potential of Great Britain and some of the new democracies of cental and eastern Europe to reject the EU constitution while "Old Europe" approves it.

It's obvious that France, Germany, Belgium and a now-socialist government in Spain wish to dominate European policy decisions vis-a-vis the smaller and newer members of the Union. They wish to,in effect, control how prosperous Poland, the Czech Republic and other eastern countries can be by an overarching socialist model imposed on everyone.

I can't imagine Great Britain, with it's long history of independence, ceding it's citizen's sovereignty to a foreign body. Nor can I imagine(maybe wishful thinking)countries who suffered under the Soviet boot for so many decades doing likewise so soon after they achieved their freedom.

Here's to the hope that they do not.

All members of the EU have already ceded their sovereignty - to the Arab League. They did so starting back in 1974, when they were just the EC. The treaty is known as the European Arab Dialogue, and it provides for the following:

1. The EU will receive its' supply of oil and petroleum products.

2. The EU will act as a counterweight to the positions of the US and Israel, and take the position of the Arab League on all foreign policy matters.

3. The EU will allow unfettered migration from Arab League nations.

4. Eventually, the EU will become part of Islam.

Do a quick Google search for "Eurabia", or go to FrontPage Mag.com and look it up there. This explains nearly everything that is going on with Europe right now in current events.

And say goodbye to England as well. Sharia will rule Europe in its' entirety. It's going to come down to us, India, Japan, Israel, and Russia to kick Islam's butt together, while China pulls the raghead's puppet strings. I know that sounds like tinfoil - no more like aluminum plate stock - but if you do some research on Eurabia you'll see it for yourself.

The EU is not a union but a federation governed by an unelected bureaucracy. Untenable. Unless you make all the states become like the US and have certain powers with the central power limited.

Ever heard of King George III.

Napolean and Hitler had to amass large armies in order to fulfill their dreams of empire -- now the European Union has created an empire from within, using political means. It looks like France and Germany will be the main powers driving this empire. If I were a European, I would be very wary of France and Germany with their history of empire building. Nations often look to the past for inspiration for their dreams of glory.
