During a 1997 debate on CNN's "Crossfire," Sen. John Kerry, now the Democratic presidential nominee, made the case for launching a pre-emptive attack against Iraq.
(snip)
(T)he candidate who now criticizes President Bush for ignoring French and Russian objections to the Iraq war blasted the two countries, claiming that they were compromised by their business dealings with Baghdad.
"We know we can't count on the French. We know we can't count on the Russians," said Mr. Kerry. "We know that Iraq is a danger to the United States, and we reserve the right to take pre-emptive action whenever we feel it's in our national interest."

This guy not only changes positions in the course of a week, he has even changed positions within the same speech on some occasions.
But of course! I fully understand Kerry's position and agree with him on it! I mean I agreed with him on it, well, what I mean to say is I don't agree now but I did agree then, I mean, well, what I mean to say is..oh, Hell!
FLIP-FLOP, FLIP-FLOP, FLIP-FLOP....
So Kerry endorsed unilateral pre-emptive military action by the US against Iraq, while condemning France and Russia as unreliable because of their business interests in Baghdad.... but that was 1997, sounds like he briefly had his head on straight, then veered left again..... of course, he will now say he was only allowing for brilliantly nuanced pre-emptive action such as he would take, not nasty Republican pre-emptive action.....
Bump.
If WT has a video, they can type a transcript.
"Nonsense. Kerry has recently stated that he has and only has had one position on Iraq."
Yes, but that was before he had many positions. PERIOD.
Kerry's positions should be time-stamped
8:03:46 Kerry is for preemption
9:15:56 Kerry is against preemption
11:09:34 Kerry fumbles a football and gawks at a Philly Cheessteak in disgust
12:33:42 Kerry tells Michigan State that Buckeye Football is the Best Football Ever. PERIOD!
12:33:52 Kerry claims to know what state he is in and mumbles something about a Big Blue Ox
And they are using Terayiyiyizaa to further hedge thier bets - he is faulting Bush for not bagging Osama, but she just spouted off about how it would not be surprising if Osam were caught in the next month. Ergo; it's bad that we haven't caught Osama, but it would be bad if we caught him before the elections. Flip-Flop...flip-flop...
Re: TahRAYzah's Osama crack, Mrs. Chummy wondered yesterday evening, "Whose side are the Kerry's on, any way?"
