ouch
No, in their tiny little minds, they know the "truth" is whatever they say it is.
Oh, bullplop. When you're tempted to think that Rather is just a deceived newsreader, recall everything you've ever heard come out of his mouth that he WASN'T reading from a script. Stick to the last four years, if you like. Start with "as she sees it, and she decrees it" while the Florida election results were being certified, and work your way up to "I KNOW THIS STORY IS TRUE".
He is as partisan as she is, if not more, considering Rather is a pal of Ramsey Clark. And practically a soulmate.
It is sheer luck he's finally been caught at his propaganda game, after getting away with it for decades, and I will NOT transfer the main share of the blame over to someone else. It's his. His, his, his.
I think there's no question that captain Dan did NOT act alone in this charade. Tell you the truth, I don't think he's smart enough. He's more in the useful idiot category; a dancing monkey if you will.
The notion that Michael Moore might be up to his fat a$$ in this would come as no surprise either. After all, wasn't Billy Bob Burkett his primary contact for his scathing documentary(?) of "W" and his presidency?
The fact that Rather, Mapes, Fager, et al are still on the job is indicative of their complete and total disconnect with reality. They have no concept of honor. And THAT is where the rubber meets the road. We have people feeding us "news" that should be in padded rooms.
And that's how it is ;^)

"I think there's no question that captain Dan did NOT act alone in this charade. Tell you the truth, I don't think he's smart enough. He's more in the useful idiot category; a dancing monkey if you will."
I respectfully disagree, my friend.
Rather's an idiot alright -- uselful in the extreme -- but he knew damned well what he was doing & that makes him as guilty as the ugly hag Mopes, maybe even moreso, but certainly not any less.
"The notion that Michael Moore might be up to his fat a$$ in this would come as no surprise either. After all, wasn't Billy Bob Burkett his primary contact for his scathing documentary(?) of "W" and his presidency?"
Very interesting thought you posit there.
Didn't the Pillsbury Dopeboy say there was "something else" he knew of W but chose not to put it in his mockumentary smear?
Seems I recall him spouting some such crap & at the time thinking to myself, "Wonder just what that might be, and, why would he not use it if he felt it so important?"
I suggest his omission might've been more a function of the proper *timing* by the Mooreon.
"The fact that Rather, Mapes, Fager, et al are still on the job is indicative of their complete and total disconnect with reality."
Yea, that's true but it's also proof-positive the clown Chairman of VIACOM has no intention of doing anything whatsoever about this BS, regardless the findings of his sock puppet investigation.
In fact the disinformation's already pouring outa the Big Rotten Apple as we speak, I mean did you know the SeeBS "Cheif" Sumner's a Bush backer?
Why that rotting old bag's directly responsible for the nest of Liberal-Socialist-Communist America-hating SCUM infesting every facet of VIACOM, for chrissakes.
I could just vomit at the chutzpah.
"They have no concept of honor. And THAT is where the rubber meets the road. We have people feeding us "news" that should be in padded rooms."
Or prison cells, anyway.
"And that's how it is"
HA!!
...& was, as it were. :o)
Ain't it!
"It is sheer luck he's finally been caught at his propaganda game, after getting away with it for decades, and I will NOT transfer the main share of the blame over to someone else. It's his. His, his, his."
And she will be blamed for it. And there will be nothing anyone can do to change that. That was my point.
They're only upset because Rather let the MSM mask slip.
JH2 - good post.
Yes, but it's Mapes' too (he's her boss), and the corporate horse they rode in on, all the way up to Sumner Redstone and Viacom. This is a corrupt organization and it's our job to let the world know it.
BTW, this is a great rant John, and it covers about everything I'd say if I put my thoughts into words.
