Like he would have said this if Rather hadn't massacred CBS' last strand of credibility.

This does not impress me and the motive makes it reek.

It's a red herring, pay particular attention to his quotes for why he alleges he is voting for Bush. To paraphrase, "Bush is good for big business." Now what is the democrat mantra against the republicans and Bush ?

He did not say "I support President Bush", he said "It is in Viacom's best interest to do so." If you also notice, he never directly says "I will vote for Bush."

This man did not make millions being stupid, I am only surprised Steve Forbes got snookered into adding credibility to this transparent strategy to cover his financial butt, while still providing Kerry and the democrats with ammunition.

He has donated the maximum to the Kerry campaign and not one cent to Bush. Actions speak louder than words.

This guy is so calculated and devious.

In light of the CBS forgeries, and the Bush admin in charge of the DOJ and the FCC, what else would the sucker say?

He just better not expect the rest of us to believe his ploy.

According to opensecrets.org, for the 2004 election cycle, Viacom has donated $995,043 so far. 76% has gone to the DEMS, 24% to the Pubbies.

Note to Redstone: It's all on-line. Jeez, guy.

You are right.

And remember, when Viacom took over Simon & Schuster, that's when they eviscerated their one conservative book publishing imprint, The Free Press, fired all the conservatives, and set it up with the usual liberal editors and publishers.

Of major New York City publishers, S&S remains the one without a conservative editor or imprint. Among all the left-wing trash they publish are those "hilarious" books of "Bushisms," and when a new collection of them arrives, the employees screech them in the hallways to gales of raucous laughter.

How can anyone now dare say that cbs and he are pushing for a Kerry victory?

Good for Viacom....just a cover-up reason.

Oh, it would be sweet if some enterprising reporter could get Redstone on-camera and ask him one question: "If you support President Bush, why have just over 3/4 of your donations gone to the Democrats?"

Pathetic. Mr. Redstone is just trying to save CBS from coming to be seen as a Democratic mouthpiece in the wake of the Rathergate and Reagan miniseries flaps.

This is all more cBS. Redstone is only doing this in hopes to cover his six.

He is hoping that if he does this...it will get heat off of cBS and Viacom.

Redstone has been in panic/damage control mode since it was revealed earlier this week that the vast majority of Viacoms board are liberal dems. Two of them served in Democratic administrations.

WON'T WORK. People already know that the RATher bit was a hit piece.....and the VIACOM board was hoping that it would get through without scrutiny. They were wrong.
