"The Americans will run away from Iraq after leaving their pants and boots. Announced by their future President". Abudosama
Islamabad, Pakistan

Direct quote from a terrorist. They believe beheadings will help Kerry win the election.

I couldn't agree more. Except.

I remember how all of us got worked up in '96 trying to get Clinton canned. The harder we seemed to yell, the higher his poll numbers grew.

Bush seems to be doing well. Maybe we should'nt rock the boat and look like we're the opposite of Michael Moore.

Not that we actually ARE like Michael Moore. But the people who don't pay any attention except the day before the election, the swing people who actually make the difference, THEY will see us that way if we become too shrill.

The question is:
Just what would Kerry have to do,
or admit to having done,
for joe sixpack or sally soccermom
to be willing to consider him
"unpatriotic"?

And has he already crossed that line?

I agree - were this coming from a public figure or politician, it would be certainly considered to be extreme. That is the reason they will never say it.

I'm just an average person with a website, and sometimes the truth must told. Cassandra at Troy doesn't expect to be believed, but still she must speak the truth...

Kerry has only one option left. The one he employed in Paris. Meet with the enemy.

Kerry's flu is a cover to hide his trip to Iraq to meet with Al Zaqawi and Baathist representatives.

The agenda is to discuss their common goal of defeating President George Bush.

Unpatriotic? This creep has been a TRAITOR since 1970.

The comparison of 2004 to 1944 isn't exactly valid. The primary reason why treason charges can never really be brought these days is that we don't fight wars anymore like we used to. The United States became involved in World War II after Congress issued formal declarations of war against tangible foreign enemies. That, it turns out, was the last time such a thing would ever happen in this country. Every military action since then has involved: 1) no clear declarations of war (Korea, Vietnam), or 2) declarations of "authorizations for military action" to support U.N. or NATO mandates (Gulf War I), or 3) idiotic declarations of "formal support for U.S. troops" without any mention of the military action in question (Kosovo/Serbia), or 4) war declarations against no nation in particular but any nation that might be identified as a supporter of terrorism (the so-called "War on Terror").

If Jane Fonda can make a fortune in this country selling exercise videos after what she did in Vietnam -- without facing any criminal prosecution for treason -- then I'd be hard-pressed to identify anything that qualifies as treason anymore.

Before that. Since high school if not earlier.
Anyway, you and I know that, but the point of
"what would it take" questions is to see if
there's any point whatever in talking with
someone about it.

If there is nothing that Kerry could do, short
of literally admitting to being a traitor, that
would cause your conversational partner to
independently conclude it, don't waste any
further time with them.

John Kerry slaughtered one generation of American soldiers in Vietnam

Kennedy's right, it's now a repeat of Vietnam, with Kerry at the frontlines and committing precisely the sort of treason he did then.

And let's not forget that in inspiring the enemy, Kerry also is complicit in the deaths of innocent Iraqis, just as he was responsible in part for the deaths of 2,000,000 Cambodians and the tens of thousands of Vietnamese slaughtered after April 1975 (forget about those 600,000 sent for reeducation and the 25 years of misery brought to all of the South Vietnamese people)

This is a damn strong editorial. There are parts of it that I wish Bush would quote at the debate with Kerry.

Americans need to be woken up and this would do it like a Zell Miller speech!

The time has come to call it treason.

Amen to that, dandelion. Kerry's record AFTER he returned from Vietnam is what should hang him. There can be no question to the fact that he did meet with the enemy and what he did and said harmed our soldiers held as prisoners, not to mention the fact that it prolonged the war and caused the deaths of 20,000 of our countrymen. He should have been prosecuted - yet, he wasn't. IT IS TREASON!
