Lots of people have given me great suggestions and I have plenty of ammo for going video shopping or renting.
There are so many films I haven't seen.
Of those suggestions of films that I have seen but simply left off my list, they would include...
Old Yeller
Apollo 13
Sgt. York
My Fair Lady
Anne of Green Gables
Captains Courageous
Quo Vadis
As for STAR WARS, I have some reservations for children. Yes, they are certain to find it very entertaining but some instinct tells me to postpone showing it till they are older or decide such things for themselves. It is not that I'm a prude cause I usually don't censor out nudity. But Star Wars and to a certain extend Lord of the Rings brings something of an action hammer to children that can be an overload and out of step with their children's world. Still I would show them all the STAR WARS and all LOTRs before I would let them watch three Saturday mournings worth of network children's programming or random watching of the Disney Channel or Cartoon Network.
